I usually hear .5 - 1 lbs a week for cutting up.


but i was thinking, im a big guy, 6"4 113-114 kg.
also my bf% is rather high, not sure how high but 20+

also im 17, when i get to bulking again ill slap on some fairly easily.

I know you try to find the best compromise between fat loss and muscle preservation, but wouldn`t it be more effective in my situation if i would go over the lbs per week?

maybe 2 lbs for instance?

I would think that 2lbs per week would be alright for your size, at least for the time being.

Lose as much as you can while holding onto as much muscle as possible. .5-1 lb per week is just the normal amount of weight a person can lose while maintaining muscle mass.

IMO ~ 2 pounds a week would be fine for now.

@ that weight 2lbs per week and body fat of 20%+ would be fine. As you get below 16% smaller loss' would be more desireable so that muscle is not being canabolised.
