If I ate that much I would get a huge gut in a week

As GS said it will vary from person to person. You just need to keep upping your cals in small increments each week until you are gaining ~.5-1lb. per week.

Just eating large amounts of calories every day will help you gain weight but if you are eating too far over maintenance expect to gain some fat as well. The reason I suggested increasing cals slowly was so that you could determine at what calorie level you could eat at while still gaining a good ratio of LBM to fat. Eating a consistent amount of calories every day and monitoring your weight gain over the course of the week would be the best approach IMO:)

Yeah, probably a good idea, bradley. I've been all over the place with my calories lately. I'm increasing them like hell, there's about a hour (and meal) left in the day, and I'm at 5,760!! Only 23% came from fat, however, so is that aight?

well, if you can slowly gain weight @ 5760 then its fine. seems unnecessarily high though. but i guess some people just ave really fast metabolisms.

23% from fat is alright, 25-30% would be best. but it also depends on the sources of the fat.

Yeah, it does seem high, but I just been hungry lately :) What are good sources of fat?

Good sources of fat would include: olive oil, natural peanut butter, FISH OIL, flaxseed oil, etc.

Just because you are eating a tremendous amount of cals does not mean that you will gain muscle at a faster rate. It can mean however that you gain fat at a faster rate. The reason I am saying this is because according to this thread you were taking in the following:

6/15 2800 cals
6/16 4000 cals
6/17 5760 cals

How are you going to know at what calorie level you gain weight with that large of a fluctuation from day to day? Increase cals in small increments from week to week as I mentioned above.

As far as the fat content, it really comes down to the sources of the fat as GS stated above.
