Anyone ever tried this stuff? Its suppposed to be some of the best (if not the best) acne medication available. Hell I still have acne from my first cycle!! My doc gives me a message sayin he's going to give me some topical ointment $hit and that I need to stop the steroids. Apparently he thinks that this cycle has affected this bout of acne.....hahahahhaahahaha....fool! Anyway, any personal experiences with this are appreciated. If he doesn't give it to me I'll find a doc who will. Thanks guys.

You can find it on the net, some sources sell it. Becareful though, it's been known to cause depression. So don't using it comming off a cycle or you may loose more then your zits....your mind as well, lol.

Several of my friends were on this stuff a couple years back. It works very well, but there are a few side effects. Slight depression at times (not a problem unless you're already a depressed person), very dry lips and one of my friends lost a lil hair on his legs. If you have any other questions just ask bro.

Allen,
Thanks for the info. bro. My parents were a little skeptical 'cause of the possibility of depression. That'll be no big deal if it happens, I got meds for it anyhow. As for the leg hair, I could use less....and the dry lips...well thats what they have Carmex for. Thanks again mate.

I raed somewhere that Accutane and gear is a very deadly combination. I dont know this for sure...but I would be wary if I were you.

Pass on the acutane. Take it from someone that has spent many years in the skin care industry.

Go to the drug store, get some PHisoderm. in the green bottle, wash head to toe in it. It will help to re acidify the skin.

Next- track your saturated fats in your diet, and make sure that the calories that you are eating are not more than 20% of your overall total. This will mean in most cases you are going to have to clean up the foods and get the bad fats out.

Moisturize, yes moisturize you skin daily, to keep the surface layer as calm as it will be.

Drink more water.

I'm not at all saying that accutane is worth all the side effects that come with it, however the results are amazing. If my skin wasn't too good I would definetely consider using it, but my skin isn't bad enough, so I'm not going to go through 6 months of side effects when it isn't necessary.
However, once finished with accutane the results will truly amaze you. Everyone should be aware of this. The choice to use the stuff, similarly to steroids, is yours.

Abs,
Thanks for the advice. As for the Accutane, the doc refuses to give it to me he says "My acne isn't bad enough."
So, I'll go to the pharmacy when I pick up my topical prescriptions and look for that stuff. Thanks again.

hey spidey, im actually on accutane as we speak, and i have not had any side effect at all other than a few mild headaches. my skin is really starting to clear up, its also very dry but thats what its supposed to do. ive been using chap stick since i started so my lips have stayed nice and smooth. ive only been on it for 5 days now so if your interested in my progress just hit me a mail.

also there is an anitibiotic called minocin, its for ance and works pretty good, its a pill.

btw, my acne was not that bad but my doc prescribed me accutane with no problem; just remember to get blood work done every month to keep youself in check.

good luck,...peace

I used roacutane, and I can tell you, that ***** is really toxic, I got headaches, it destroyed my lips so bad I had to use chapstick almost every hour, I got depresed also but no big deal, however, it cured my acne problems really well. I guess the side effects varies on individuals, because a friend of mine used with relatively no side effects.

I took accutane and it worked really well. A lot of side effects though. I could not walk or run in comfort because of the drying effects it had on my knee joints. Have fun squatting if I had a hard time running. Dry skin lips and frequent nosebleeds occur. It is a hardcore drug which they must monitor your body closely with blood tests each month to make sure you are allright. i would never mix this drug with steroids. I went on a six month cycle and 6 months after I must still continuously use lip chap/

Not a good option unless you have just finished the last acne inducing cycle of your life. This is a permanent, last resort treatment. It is a long term use product (at least 4 months) and does have most of the above mentioned sides. My girlfriend took it and went from Pizza to Glamour.

Vitamin B5 is the way to go, if my memory serves me correct. Check out the nutrition forum, I'm sure there's a qualified member there to comment.

Hope you think long and hard about this - perceived - easy option.

Hey I use to haver really bad acne until i started using more than one thing. I used like 3 or 4 types of medicine at once and it worked fine. I used two types of that Clearasil stuff 1 for in the shower and one for when i go to bed. I also used stridex and some other stuff i cant remember, and now I only use like one type of acne medicine. It took me like 3 or 4 months but i have barley enough acne to even notice

For the love of God, use your steroids and beat the **** out of him until he gives you some ******* accutane! Why the hell are you even on gear if you're not going to hurt people until they give you things? Blame it all on roid rage, and society's prefascination with physical beauty. They made you do it.

BTW I'm running low on Percodan, so grab me some of that.

Tetracycline made my skin go in white blotches and it is still blotchy 8 months later.....the doctor said accutane had worse side-effects........so basically id rather have my back acne thanks...

PS I dont take gear cos im so anabolic all the time anyway.

If your acne is such that you don't mind having it back instead of taking medication then it probably isn't serious enough. In high school (and occasionally now), I had outbreaks with nodular acne and it's very painful and really looks bad. I am not joking when I say it hurt my whole face to make expressions. The reason I'm even considering Accutane is because I'm so damn sick of acne (being 19) and the effect it has had on most of my adolescence.
