Swordfish for lunch....sirloin for dinner...

for those of us whose name doesn't happen to be Rockefeller, I started this thread.

What are some of the best inexpensive AND caloricly-dense foods for body building?

Please take time to think before you respond to this thread; 'a plate of cookies' is not a good response; 'a serving of trail mix' IS a good response.

nuts, natural peanut butter, oils (olive oil, flax oil, fish oil, etc.), beans, sweet potatoes, oats, milk, cottage cheese, eggs

You can also look into things like whole chickens which you can usually find on sale. You will have to do some trimming and a little extra work but the meat is all the same and you can usually get stuff like this for a bargain.

Also ground beef is a good choice, but make sure that you drain the excess fat off which will reduce the fat content. I would recommend purchasing 90% lean or greater, which you can usually find at a good price.

Also if you have access to a Costco or Sam's you can save money by buying in bulk. :)
