From what little I have read kelp contains a good amount of iodine which can help regulate the thyroid, but I would not think that iodine deficiency would be a problem in most areas. It also contains other things such as enzymes, B12, niacin, potassium, iron, and magnesium.
What were you trying to accomplish by taking a kelp supplement, or were you just curious as to what they are used for.

I am borderline hypothyroid and I have taken it and felt like it made me burn more cals
one thing to make note of is the dosage
be VERY carefull
the reason I say this is that a common alternative to removing the thyroid for people that require the surgery is to burn it out with Iodine
you could destroy it forever
unless you have had your T3/T4 levels checked and found out they were low I say stay away
I use it during the last few weeks of a long cut as when I cut cals I can only lose weight for a short time until I have to cut even more

Hey durden, we're not talking about whey here, we're talking about some pretty unheart of supplement. Thanks.
Bradley, My friend wanted to know if it would be good for her diet. I appreciate it.
