View Full Version : How do you count calories for freshly prep'ed food?

Just curious --

I made some quesadillas last night and was lost on figuring calories.

I do a mix of sauted veggies to stuff them with -- wouldn't it be nearly impossible to figure calories on that since each spoonful has a different consistency?

Also, I grease my pan with, and give everything a splash of, olive oil....there's really no way to say how much was absorbed and how much burned out of the pan.

Just curious how you guys do this.

i just figure what the max amount of calories would be...for instance.. if I put a tablespoon on olive oil on a salad i assume i will eat 100% of that oil...I know some of the oil will be left at the bottom of the plate . But at least I know the max amount of calories I consumed

I usually just add up the total amount of the calories in all the ingredients and then divide it evenly by how many servings I make. It will not be 100% accurate but it should be pretty close.
