You got it...

1)Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a free fatty acid, necessary for growth and one of the building blocks of cell membranes and communication signals within and between cells. CLA has been linked to the way the body stores and burns energy. It helps your food perform more efficiently, and it helps focus calories onto healthy muscle tissue. Human body does not produce CLA on its own.

2)Chromium is a co-factor for insulin. It helps maintain proper blood sugar levels.It lowers LDL cholesterol, and lowers triglicerides (all good steps). It helps metabolize cholesterol, fats, and protein. It prevents and lowers high blood pressure, improves cellular up-take of trace minerals, and lessens risk of age-related diseases.

CLA is contained in milk's fat.You don't need to buy the supp.Chromium is inexpensive and worths a try.200mcg per day is the optimal dose.Don't expect miracles though..

would it help fat burning? or be beneficial while cutting?

I'm going to give you the exact opposite advice. I read about 2 studies that showed that taking between 3 and 6.8 grams of CLA per day helped promote fat loss and muscle gain. These are fairly preliminary studies, so they don't necessarily prove anything. I've been taking about 4 grams a day for a few weeks, and I think its making a difference. On the other hand, there aren't any good human studies that show benefits from chromium supplements. I tried chromium in the past, and I didn't see any results.

That's undoubtable.So,it may help you stabilize blood sugar levels and thus aid in the process of fat burning.
As for CLA,I said before that you don't need it.

I'm gonna go with taras on this one.....i read those studies too..one in mice, on in men...both showing favorable results....however, although CLA can be found in in dairy....not in sufficient amounts to cause favorable results...i've been on it for a few weeks myself, and i'm noting results too.

I have been taking 3g of cla for the last month and I am seeing results. as for chromium is not going to help you unless you are a diabetic or have chromium deficiency.

What kind of results have you guys been seeing from CLA? Which brands are you using? I've been thinking of trying it after reading a few articles. It would seem it takes 3-5 grams a day to see results.

I've been taking EAS CLA. I take 5 capsules each night before bed. (The bottle says to take 2 capsules 3 times per day, so that might actually work better.) Each capsule contains 0.75 grams of CLA. I pay $24.99 for a bottle of 90 capsules, so its not cheap. About 3 months ago I cut down on my food intake, but wasn't losing more than a lb every week or two. I didn't want to cut down any more on food or go up on cardio, so I started taking the CLA about a month ago, and since then I've been losing about 1 or 2 lbs a week. Ephedrine is probably more effective, but probably not as safe. I personally wouldn't take ephedrine since I already have high blood pressure. As far as I know, nobody has reported any side effects from CLA when taken at the recommended doses.

CLA=Junk!

Please save your money. I've used it and it stinks (ie: it sucks)

Now if you want to talk about studies we all know that those studies can be argued.
From what I've read with all the medical research done it still comes out as a useless supp.
