It depends.

Are you bulking/cutting? Did you have a preworkout shake?

If you are just having a post wo shake, I'd say at least 50 grams of carbs, if not 75 or so. I usually have a pre/during wo shake, so I usually only have 20 g post, because my glycogen stores wouldn't be so depleted.

it would depend on what you do in the hours before the post workout shake (post your pre/during nutrition)

here is 1 scenario

you eat a whole food meal 2 hrs before the workout

you drink nothing but water during

post w/o you take 20g's of carbs and 20g's of whey

= your body will likely just convert the whey to glucose and you are left with NO PROTEIN in your system

I'm cutting.
I never take a pre workout shake. But I did eat 45 min before I lifted. (tuna sandwich). I never lift on an empty stomach. I did drink water during working out and took 22grams of protein/20g of carbs after.

Why would the whey be converted to glucose holto?

Consuming adequate amounts of carbs post workout will limit the amount of protein that is converted to glucose via gluconeogenesis in the liver.

Assuming that your pre-workout meal contained ~20g of carbs, I would say that ~50g would be fine post workout.
