'kay I still haven't got round to buying a new tub of n-large for my post wkout shake, so for the past week I've basically been drinking 2 pints of milk on my way home from the gym and then eating a meal of:

3 chicken breasts
150g pasta
'nother pint milk
something hideously fatty but that tastes gorge :)

anyways I was worried it'd hinder my gains but I actually feel better, that may be due to my new bulking diet, but hey.

should I even bother getting one, or stick to this method?

Well, I think you're eating to much protein in such a short time. Think about it...for every 8 oz. If I recall, 2 pints is the equivalent of 4 cups of milk. Thats 32 grams already. Then if you add in the chicken breasts @ about 26 g per breast thats....110 g protein you're at now. THEN, add in the other pint of milk which is another 16 g of protein. Giving us 126 grams in quite a short time frame. Personally I think its a bit much myself. Then we get to carbs.... 13 g per 8 oz of milk, thats 78 g carbs alone. THEN you have pasta...damn bro you must be one bloated MOFO after you train... If I were you I'd lower both of these values drastically. You don't have your N-Large yet, so try to get the values of this food to about the same as one serving of N-Large. Thats what I'd do at least....

Is it true that your body can only "handle" a certain amount of protein at a time anyway?

I always thought you could take in more stuff after you trained, hmmm.

I must admit after eating it I do go off for a bit of a nap ;)

feel great from it though

MA: No.

Flake: just leave a larger gap between your milk and chicken - like 60-90 minutes will do.

BTW, although for weight gaining Nlarge is good, but it's really just expensive sugar. There are better value weight gainers IMO.

Nlarge has more protein than most; IMO it's one of the better weight gainers.

:D

It's just that after heavy lifting your body is depleted and you need to replenish it with proteins, carbs, and fats. So we are told that we should eat more after working out.

Belial: that is right but for value...

you can pick up a 10lb tub of n-large for £36 - it's not too bad a value

MA,

You're right, you do need to replenish after a workout, but that much in one meal is overkill. What I usually do after a workout is have my post-workout shake and then 90 minutes after I finish it I"ll have a normal meal. That seems to work nicely for me. ;)

for ease I used to love nlarge for post training...

Lots of cals and a good carb protein and fat ratio for post training..

It also tasted not too bad :)

Thats actually what I do as well. Come home right away and make a shake. For some reason I'm not always the hungriest right after I've been working out.

Flake: where in the hell did you get a tub for 36 squids?!

And where do you get the 10lbers from?
