A chicken-and-dextrose shake sounds incredibly nasty to me, but whatever works...

i dont mean in a shake
i meant would it be okay to eat some chicken straight after my workout and drink some water with dextrose

would it be beneficial?

Taking in adequate amounts of carbs and protein would be more important than the actual type of protein and carbs consumed. Granted consuming whey and dextrose would work the best because of their rapid rates of digestion/absorption, but that is not to say a high carb, protein meal with minimal fat would not be just as beneficial.

Since you are out of whey I would try and ensure that you have adequate nutrients in your system before training so these nutrients would be available post workout. Try eating a meal consisting of low glycemic index carbs and some protein ~1.5-2 hours before training, and then have another meal immediately after training.
