If i added raw eggs to my protein shakes would it be a good method of increasing protein consumption. Or would this hamper the digestion of the shake and make me ill?:confused:

you're better off cooking the egg, and then drinking the shake without it. uncooked, all of the protein in the egg cannot be digested.

~50% of the protein is digestable from raw egg whites as compared to ~90% for a cooked egg. When you cook an egg you deactivate the protein avidin. If you eat uncooked egg whites the protein avidin will bind to biotin, which will hinder the absorption of the protein, and could also lead to a biotin deficiency.

Not to mention the increased risk of salmonella.
