Hey guys,

I am thinking of spicing my keto breakfast and making some chorizo con huevos. Would this fall under a low carb food?

Chorizo= Mexican Sausage

Label on chorizo reads total carbs=3g
Sugars=2g <--these are evil right but still low.

I love Chorizo sausages. Hot but mmmmmm! It's on a breakfast skillet meal, I always order it whenever I get the chance.

Yummy I am going to have so fun this week. Edgar you ever have machaca con huevos? That also looks like a low carb food.

Some of you may have not tried it since it is a more traditional Mexican food. The meat is dried up kind of like beef jerky and the prepared with eggs, spices and Chile. Man it is so good.

what about the fat en el chorizo? I was under the impression all processed meats were high in sat fat....

It is for Keto diet. You eat foods high in fat and very low in carbs.

It would be tough to get all of your fat from healthy sources while following a ketogenic diet. I agree it would probably be a more healthy approach, but when fat calories are making up a large percentage of your daily cals, your options become limited. Variety is an important factor for most people while dieting, and getting all of your fats from healthy sources would become quite monotonous. You would end up taking quite a few servings of various oils each day.;)
