I'm trying real hard to bulk up but I'm a serious ectomorph, my weight flucuates between 153 and 158 all through the week, It's odd. I've been doing my best at eating as much as possible. I'ts been hell just trying to break 160.
I know this a real dumb question but would drinking more beer be a good way to gain weight? I stopped drinking like a year ago, not cause I have a drinking problem, I just haven't been in the mood.

If you really want to gain weight then you start counting calories. Its simple. If you are eating 3000 calories and you aren't gaining weight then you bump it up to 3500. If that's not working bump it up to 4000. When you start gaining about .5lbs to a pound a week then you've got it right.
Being an ectomorph means you work harder to bulk but typically less to cut.
And I'd still stay away from beer. It tends to have a negative impact on protein synthesis.

I found an old pic, it's probably exactly a year old. And you think I'm skinny now wait till you see this one. lol
After seeing your before pic, I'd say it's obvious you've made some improvements. Holy crap you used to be as skinny as I was! Good work. Keep it up.

I definitely see some size increase since you joined. Still a WBBSA though! :D I've found that drinking lots of milk throughout the day really helps.
And no more underwear shots. tuttut

I started drinking whole milk again. It's helping, trying to drink about a gallon a day.

Nothin personal but I agree with the others on the 3rd pic. For a second I thought I was on the wrong website. Save that stuff for the Calvin Klien comercials.
I looked at the before pic and I definatly see some improvements. You have the advantage of a lean build to begin with. Not everyone is that lucky. So now when you add some more muscle it will really show. Try to get at least 1g protien per lb of body weight per day over 6 meals. if you arent getting that much protien from food you might consider adding in a protien supplement like 100% whey protien. Mix the powder with water and chug it down. Its a cinch. Work out hard and give your muscles time to recover before working them again. split your workout into several common muscle groups and work them on different days of the week. This will help them heal before working again. Right now im doin a 3 day a week routine with upper body pulling on monday, legs on wed, and upper body pushing on fri. This gives my muscles plenty of time to grow between each muscle group workout. Your muscles dont get bigger while yur workin out. They get bigger while resting and recovering inbetween workouts.
Alcohol wont help but more likely hurt. Since alcohol is a poison, your body will be focusing on removing it rather than spending its resources on building muscle.
