the first day i started on this supplement, i notices a dull headache in my temples, more so on the left side.
guess what?
its been over a week and the headache has not stopped.
i also get nauseated easy now.
and i am light headed and tired here and there during the day.
i waited until now, because i though i would give it a chance and maybe i would justy needed to "adjust".
i know that creatine can increase blood pressure and that could account for it.
i stopped taking it today.
i have had a headcold, headache and nausea since the night after my first scoop of this stuff.
i have it now, and bad.
i can't even train.

my guesses....
i don't blame any of the ingredients
like arginine, glutamine, taurine and betatine.
they are good for you, if not pointless at all.
the first 3 are amino acids.
it's the creatine.

has anyone ever experienced these side effects while on creatine.
i have had a week in hell, but my desire to get big keep me on it despite the misery of this past week.

don't blame the V12.
if you could take a creatine product, then i would recomend this.
san is a good name and they produce nice lines of supplements.
it's if you can get past the creatine.

any help, i really need it and hope my headcahes stop

I would see a doctor, I've never heard of creatine doing this to anybody, so it could be another problem that just happened to come up at the same time you started your creatine supplementation, but I'm not a doctor so I suggest you go see a professional

Since arginine can act as a vasodilator, I tend to think that it might have something to do with the headaches, but this is just an educated guess. Either way I would discontinue use.

I have not heard of creatine causing headaches like you mentioned above, but that does not mean that it could not happen.

L-Arginine/nitric oxide pathway in chronic tension-type headache: relation with serotonin content and secretion and glutamate content.

Sarchielli P, Alberti A, Floridi A, Gallai V.

Interuniversity Center for the Study of Headache and Neurotransmitter Disorders, Perugia, Rome, Sassari, Bari, Naples, Florence--Unit of Perugia, Perugia, Italy. neuro@netemedia.net

Previous research of our group demonstrated an increase in L-arginine/nitric oxide (NO) pathway activity in patients with chronic daily headache (CDH) with a previous history of migraine, which was associated with a reduced platelet serotonin content and increased Ca(2+) levels. In the present work, we assessed the variations in L-arginine/NO pathway activity and platelet cyclic guanosine 3',5'-monophosphate (cGMP) levels in 25 patients affected by chronic tension-type headache (CTTH) (8 M, 17 F; age range: 34-54 years). The NO production, shown spectrophotometrically by stoichiometric transformation of oxyhemoglobin to methemoglobin due to NO synthase (NOS) activity, and inter platelet cGMP concentration, assessed with a RIA method, were determined in parallel to variations of aggregation response to 0.3 microg/ml collagen. The intracellular platelet calcium concentrations were also determined using fluorescence polarisation spectrometry. Platelet serotonin content and collagen-induced secretion as well as glutamate content were also determined with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The above parameters were compared with those of an age-matched control group. A reduction in aggregation platelet response was found. The reduction in platelet aggregation was coupled with an increased NO and cGMP production (p<0.0002 and p<0.001, respectively). A significant increase in cytosolic Ca(2+) concentration was also detected compared to control individuals (p<0.001). This was accompanied by a reduced platelet content and collagen-induced secretion of serotonin and increased content of glutamate (p<0.0001, p<0.0001 and p<0.001, respectively). The above findings were more evident in patients with analgesic abuse. It can be hypothesized that the increased NOS activity shown in platelets of CTTH patients reflects an analogous central up-regulation of NOS activity in the spinal horn/trigeminal nucleus and supraspinal structures involved in the modulation of nociceptive input from myofascial cranial structures contributing to central sensitization. The increase in NOS activity seems to be associated with a hyposerotonergic status, particularly in patients with analgesic abuse, and this can contribute to central sensitization in CTTH patients. The increase in platelet glutamate content in the same patients suggests the implication of the above excitatory amino acid in spinal and supraspinal structures involved in head pain induction and maintenance.

Sounds to me as if you were already getting a cold when you started taking V12.

Have you taken any creatine supps before?

If so were there any similar sides?

yes! actually, i used creatine when it first became popular around
1996 or around there. (whenever phospagain came out by EAS)
i did get a constant nausea feeling similar to this.
this past week i have been drinking very little water while on V12
i just have not been thirsty since i started it over a week ago.

you should up your intake of water. This would go for creatine, protein, thermogenics, and working out in general.

I'm sure you already now this but creatine does hydrate your muscles and if there is no more or fewer amounts of water in your system then your organs may not be getting the water it needs thus causeing the nausea.

it does sound as if you are sensitive to creatine for some reason or another. You should not be allergic to it because your body naturally produces around 2.2 grams per day.

good luck bro.

ii'm feeling better already.
so what suppliment without creatine should i try now?
what works?
no2 is too expensive an to risky because it may do nothing visually for you.
i could buy more protein i guess.
