hi ya
i've just started taking creatine for the first time ever, and am cycling it the way the wbbarticle says (2 days loading with 20g/day, followed by 2g/day maintenance).
i took the first dose (20g) this morning with juice, but just a few hours later i sat on the toilet and brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. it was diorhea.
i've read somewhere that diorhea will occur if i'm taking too much creatine.
is a 20g dose too high do u think?? should i drop down to 4x5g doses for the 2 loading days, or continue with 20gx2 and put up with the runs.
or is it normal to get the runs, while still being able to gain some good weight with creatine. i'm drinking water all day.
pls reply very soon.
cheers
ish.

I have used creatine several times and I never bother with the loading phase. Loading will increase your creatine levels faster than not loading, but after about 2 weeks there is no difference in creatine levels if you had loaded for the two weeks or if you just took the normal dose for the two weeks.

Creatine does not need to be loaded. Take 5 grams prior to lifting with some juice/dextrose and 5 grams post with some juice/dextrose.

As mentioned, don't bother with the loading phase... As for dosage - 3-5gs daily maintenence should be fine.. i'ts worked good for me and i didn't bother with loading.. esp 20gs.

it was mad stuff in my fridge. think it was a combination of apple, orange, etc, etc. was deep red in colour, so am assuming it also had some cranberry or something.
shall i just take it with grape juice.
i'm thinking of just being patient and going with the maintenance phase at 5g/day

Certain juices will give a laxative effect, esp pure orange depending on how much you drink.. the mix could have brought it on, in fact anything could of brought it on.. personally i never got any 'side-effects' from Creatine.... i'd stick to 5gs and give it time.

either way some people that take creatine get upset stomach. I get runs and gas, but hey don't we all need a little bitt of action in our lives.

( this was last year) but anyways good luck
P.s i heard that taking creatine with orange juice is bad.. i dont know if this is a true statement.. but someone said how the citric acid in the orange juice destroys the creatine.. so keep this in mind im trying to find out if this is true or not??

Citric Acid does not destroy creatine

From drugfreebodybuilding.com
"Creatine and orange juice do not cause any problems or any decrement in effectiveness. Some people say that the citric acid in orange juice degrades creatine into creatinine. This does not
make much sense consider the acids in our stomach are much more acidic than citric acid."
Ok, my bad.
