Ok guys, I have a problem. All I seem to ever read about on these board is cutting and bulking. This cycle sounds good, but I need to look buff all year 'round. I'm up for cutting but the bulking just aint for me. I can't tolerate fat on me. My life time ambition has been to be a porno prop. I havn't made it yet, but I go to all the castings, and I need to look my best 24-7. Is there any way to train yet look buff enough, all year round, to score at a porno intetrview. I know this might sound a bit stange but I really think I can make it - if I can keep the fat off during the bulking sessions.

Cheers Boss.

Yep it can be done. The place to begin and the first thing to do is change your vocabulary. Now before you run off screaming here is what I mean.

I want to lower my bodyfat% or maintain at current level and I want to add some muscle mass. Bulking has grown to mean adding a lot of weight and cutting means, dieting until fat is gone and those two do not go hand in hand.

Slowly every two weeks increase you caloric intake, mostly from protein, this will build muscle mass. Now if you are careful and keep the carbs to a minimum or equal amount with protein and do not eat junk food or sugars, you can build muscle while keeping the body fat weight the same or very close. If you gain muscle without gaining fat then the BF% will go down.

The reason it is not the popular way is not because it is hard to do, it takes less attention to detail to bulk and then to cut. Translation - its easier and quicker.

I don't think you need to look buff at porno interviews. I think it's more about 'performance.' Come on now, just look at Ron Jeremy.

I agree with Dr. X, it can be done. Try increasing you rcalorie intake slowly, also the timing when you eat is important. If you do cardio do not do it during the same gym visit, try doing cardio in the morning on an empty stomach and then working out in the afternoon or evening. Make sure to eat or supplement a good quality serving after you workout.

Good Luck

Yes it can be done, but the probability of you adding a significant amount of LBM while losing bf is not likely, with the exception of people who are new to training or using AAS. Concentrate on gaining a small amount of weight each week (~.5-1lb), which should help in minimizing the amount of fat that you gain.

I agree that increasing your calorie intake slowly over the course of a few weeks is the way to go about it, but these calories do not necessarily need to come from protein. Providing the body with extra protein does not necessarily mean you will increase muscle mass. Unless you are using AAS there would be no benefit in going much higher than 1g per lb. of bw in protein.

There are a lot of debates on whether or not it can be done. Personally, I think trying to do both at the same time is just wasting your time. You can't expect to put on a lot of lbm without eating a sufficient amount of food. No matter how clean you eat, eating enough to add lbm is going to add some fat.

ahahahahahahahahahaha

Anyway, I too am interested in this. Way of working out but mostly just bulk and do 10 minutes of cardio a day. I don' count calories (I know, I'm a sinner) but I listen to my body instead.
