How does meal frequency effect both lipogenesis and catabolism? Are there any relevant studies anyone wants to share with me.

I can't recall fully, but I think I remember someone saying that meal frequency is not as important as total calories consumed in a day, is this correct? So technically I can "over feed" myself during half of my day, and during the other half I can basically starve myself, but as long as I eat maintenance calories at the end of the day I am ok? or no?

As long as you are taking in adequate amounts of protein and EFAs, then meal frequency is not going to have any great impact on the things you mentioned above. Although I would recommend consuming a meal upon waking and before going to bed, due to the overnight fast.

Basically if you are consuming 3 meals, spaced throughout the day, and following proper pre/post workout nutrition you should be fine.
