Haven't posted in a while, but I'm posting some update pics.

To summarize.... I'm 42, and started lifting in Feb 2002 at a bodyweight of 171-173. Height is 6'1"

When I was a kid I was really fat, getting up to 300 lbs by the time I was 19.

Took the weight off in 1981-82, and then started walking for exercise.

I "bulked" last fall/winter, getting up to 200 lbs by the end of March '03.

Since then I've been trying to cut bodyfat while preserving as much muscle as possible.

Current bodyweight is 183-186 lbs.

I'm walking/jogging 27-36 miles per week, and lifting weights approximately 3 times every 10-14 days. My plan is to maintain bodyweight while continuing to lift. Walking/jogging will be tapered back a bit through the fall/winter, and frequency of weight workouts will be increased. I have no intention of "bulking" again, because I didn't like the extra fat. Since I'm not planning on competing or anything like that, my goals are to maintain cardiovascular fitness, general health, and muscle tone. Whatever size gains and changes to physique may come can come slowly, and that is fine with me. At my current weight I feel leaner and better about myself than when I'm heavy, and my knees and ankles like the lighter weight a lot better. I'm still about 12-15 lbs. heavier than when I started lifting, so if I can increase in muscle weight this much again over the next 1.5 to 2 years I'll be very satisfied.

Maybe I don't really "wannabebig".... at least not very fast! Who knows what the future holds though? :)

itll be tough preserving much muscle while jogging that much.
