PLEASE RECOMMEND TRICEP EXCERCISES

that is all,
thank you,
;)

...well besides the one and two arm pushdowns, there are one and two arm db extensions, dips, close grip bench presses, and skulls to name a few for the tri's - good luck!

lol, wow - Cocoa named all of my favorite Tri exercizes. He even got them in the right order...

my heaviest tricp pushdowns (two handed) were 90x8 followed by 85x8. I agree they seem very light, compared to everyone else on this board. I dont know why. I do not do anything else specifically for triceps, though i am looking for suggestions.

You may be doing the triceps extensions on a station with a single pulley (like lat pulldowns). Many people do triceps extensions at stations with a double pulley, which cuts the resistance of the stack in half. CoCoa has a good list of alternate triceps exercises. Some more can be found at http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/ArmWt.html#anchor122387

Thanks cocoa, and everyone else. Next push workout ill do some extensions :) Heading out to the gym right now for pull, ill update when i get back :)

aka: you are right about me doing them on a single pully station. i dont really care about the low weight, being strong at tricep pushdowns is not one of my main goals ;)

BB Curl: 65x8 75x6
Behind the back wrist curl: 80x20 80x15 80x15

These felt very strong, though i could not get the desired reps out. I was shooting for 6 per set. I was close though, hopefully next week.
I havent done these in a while, felt good
Grip has improved since last workout and did not cause me any problems. These were pretty easy.
I havent done these in a long time either. Pretty weak. Ive always been pretty weak at isolation movements, not that im too concerned about that.
I got a lot more reps out than i was expecting to. Ill increase weight next time.

A girl at the gym was wearing a shirt that said "I LOVE SEX". ****ing attention whore. Maybe Im just bitter because i didnt order that "I <3 MY PENIS" shirt i saw in maxim. Maybe I will order that shirt hahahahaha

*holy ****ing crap man. hahahahahahah. on the way up(or maybe down, i have no idea), 185 hit me in the chest and knocked me on my ass. It was pretty funny, but it could have been bad. I was using rubber plates, and they bounced right over my shins (didnt touch me). Could have crushed me knees. Scary ****. Man.
Otherwise, these felt good lol.
The power was out at my normal gym, so i had to go a little bit farther to the nicer gym. It was pretty empty there. They moved around a lot of their machines and LOST their glute ham raise. I was pretty pissed, so i didnt do my normal workout, and did a lot more power cleans than normal. I still need to learn form on this.

I havent done bench in a while, becase of my shoulder. But ive been feeling good lately, so i thought id give it a go. I moved my heavy set to the front of my worksets, which worked out very well. I dont know why i dont do that with all my excercises (*note to self). Ah well, these are still light but they are better than nothing and better than last time
Very good chest pump. These are much lighter than normal, but thats because it came after flat BP.
Easy
First time ive done these. I started out light to work my way up. These felt real good. I really like these. Plus i look cool while doing them ;)
First set was hard, and i dont know why. It was easy last week. Im thinking about going much lighter, higher reps with these. Or maybe getting rid of them completely in favor of more side lateral raises while doing windmills
Shoulders were pretty tired already, but these felt good.

WHOA! never saw no one trying to catch 185 in the chest, glad you not hurt man.

I got pinned by a hand dolly before LOL, when I was a beer delivery guy, I was walking a dolly cart full of beer and slipped in the snow. the dolly came down on top of me, pinning me under it. The handles were the only thing keeping it from slicing me into like four different sections. I was a little smaller then, doubt I could fit under a dolly cart now LOL.

a wonder I am still alive all the near death/funny **** that happens to me.......

HS Shrug:
DB Curl: 35x8 35x5
Wrist curl:

I didnt have my chalk and the bar here wasnt knurled at all. This made my grip not so fun.
Grip was being a pain again
They didnt have a HS shrug machine and my callouses were about to fall off so i didnt bother with a BB
???? i dunno
skipped because i was feeling lightheaded, didnt have proper pre workout meal. im not even sure i ate anything

The gym in portland was pretty nice. There were a lot of really fit girls there, which was a nice change.
All of portland seemed really cool actually. Nice people, beautiful scenery. The weather was perfect, which i know wont always be the case, but its still nice to know its not always raining there.
I drove up to washington where the legal gambling age is 18. I lost a little at poker, and then lost a lot playing pai gow. I guess it was a good lesson for me. I always figured paigow was a good deal because the house has such a small advantage (less than 4%). But over time that advantage amounts to something... ill stick to skill games I guess:nod:

I messed up the order of the weights, but it turned out okay. My math skills are starting to suck. These felt really solid though. I was pissed off and in my zone. I need to get pissed off before every workout.
My knee hurt in the middle of the second set, pretty bad. I continued after a 5 second break, and everything is ok.

Good. Strong. Not too easy.

I was eyeing a cute asian girl last workout. Tonight was only the second time ive seen her at my gym. In the spirit of 120/120, i decided to approach her. And what better way to do that than walk on the treadmill next to her? pwhahahah she cant run away that way. anyway... we talked for 5 minutes (+1). Shes from thailand. They have arranged marriages there. That was the end of that :) But her name is the same as my last name! How bizarre is that. Just imagine if she got married to me... her name would be... get this... Bowling Bowling... i wish i was making this up...
These were stronger than before, maybe because of the extra time in between.
Easy. Too easy.

Warm Up
The first 4 reps of 155 felt hard, but the next 2, as well as 145 and 135 felt pretty easy. The bar just seemed to float up. Either I finally got my form down, or I need more warm up sets. Still felt good. I mean it literally felt like it was floating.
I havent done these in about two weeks because of the power outage last week. Felt decent, but i was having a hard time keeping a 25 and a 5 on my chest. itd probably be easier to hold 3 10s. Next week ill be doing 35, so it wont matter.
I want to start doing these for real weight, so I guess ill start working up to whatever my real weight is.
Easy. Im switching to some higher rep work for calves and abs

Wow pretty hard. I dont like doing these right after benching. Im going to re-arrange my routine to put this on my other push day.
Harder than I expect. This is the same weight as last time, so I dunno why its harder this time.
First time doing these. Im not sure if i like these or not. I have a hard time keeping my elbow perpendicular to the floor, so im not sure if my form is staying consistant. 55 was unbelievably heavy, compared to 45. I dont understand haha. Oh well.
I was kind of in a rush, but i stayed a few minutes late to do these. I did some more lateral raises with the 5s because i didnt do them on the machine

I went to the gym in the morning, to get it outta the way before work. Mistake. I dont like working out so early. I was still tired. I was in a rush. Bleh. This workout was not bad, but it certainly could have been better. I also think boxing last night wore my shoulders out. Plus the wrist problems. Damn... i sound like a whiney bitch. Anyway..... yea... thats all :)

I actually have one of those standing ones, that you fill with water. It works alright, but moves after a while. Or maybe hang it in the garage?

BB Wrist Curl: 90x15 90x12 90x15
DB Reverse Wrist Curl: 15x25 20x25 25x12

Pretty decent chinups.. the chindowns... ok well i wasnt sure if the pulldown machine was accurate or not. On the first set... i started pulling myself up off of the seat... so im guessing the machine isnt accurate. I raised the seat up so that i could lock my knees under the pad so i couldnt float and did another rep. Then I went over to a different pulldown machine and tried that one on 190. Those two reps were pretty easy, comparitevly speaking. Ill start using the more accurate machine in the future.
Fairly easy.
Grip failed midway in all sets, but i picked it up immediatly and continued. WOOOOOO these felt good.
Last reps were haaaaaaaaaard. As always.
Once the pump gets going... i have a hard time doing full ROM reps. Im not sure, maybe thats a good thing.
Easy.
New, im hoping this will strengthen my wrists and prevent future pain from benching, etc.

Yesterday I did more punching and throwing elbows. I like throwing them 'bows when im close. Ive never hit a person with them, though id imagine it would hurt. I also gave my sister (120ish) a piggy back ride for a while. I was doing sprints with her on my back. Was pretty easy thanks to all the farmers walks i was doing. I was trying to get my dad (240) or brother (220) to let me carry them, but they were both being too lazy to get outta the house.
Today I went to the gym and did legs/lower back. Ill update later tonight.

Surprisingly easy. I think my conv deadlift 6 rep max has surpassed my sumo deadlift 6 rep max, and isnt showing signs of slowing. Im pretty happy. My knees and shins got pretty ****ed up though, heh
Easy. No knee problems.
Very easy. I need more weight or more reps. Im not sure which. Maybe both- next week.
Felt a good burn about midway through the second set on through the 11th rep of the third set. Couldnt get anymore.
Easy. Im still enjoying these quite a big because i can go ass to the grass. But I need to find another similar move to do because right now im front squatting twice a week. Maybe ill jump squat(light) one day and front squat (moderate) the other day.

Almost perfect workout. Hit everything i wanted to hit. I played pool earlier in the day, that was fun. And did anyone watch that mini and sacto game tonight? Damn, what a nail biter. Good stuff.

Farmerwalk (per hand, in meters): 75x50m 75x50m 75x50m 75x25m 75x25m 75x25m

Pretty solid, not easy though. The last reps were very tough, with triceps taking over heavily.
I have a hard time doing these after doing a compound, i may drop them. im not sure yet. Felt okay, but last reps were kinda cheated, using some back arch to get it locked out.
Easy. W0rd.
These were pretty hard. I jumped 5lbs from last week. Depth was hard to get into, and out of. Ill repeat the weight next week.
2.5s and 5s. easy
Some more work for triceps, because, why not? Light and easy. I plan on keeping it that way.
These were hard. But **** that **** man. I was zonin'. I told myself I was gonna do it. And I did. This was a PR for me. And I hit my desired distance. So im happy :)

another great workout :)

Thanks guys! Yea cocoa. Most people are either laker lovers or haters, everyone's got an opinion on them ;)

Yesterday was an off day. Worked late so didnt do any kind of off day cardio... i know i know... slacker. But my shoulders were sore, so i didnt want to do any punching. And the gym is so far away... 3 minutes may not seem like a long way to you guys... but at 10:30 at night, it is :)
Today is... pull day! I WILL be going there after work tonight. At 10:30. Yikes. Ill post it tonight or tommorow.

O0o0o0o0o0o, pull day. lol..I feel like I'm missing something, I have leg days, arm days, back days, yada yada yada...you have pull days...punch days...You'll have to fill me in after work tonight....if I haven't already read your entire journal in search of the explanation.

Edit:

Whoa, I read earlier pages, I'm now qualified to write your biography...muwahahahaha...lol...sorry...I'm in an ultra weird mood.

chicker: My workout schedule goes like this: push, pull, rest, legs, push, rest, pull, legs, rest, repeat. or something like that.
Push days include all of the pushing muscles, triceps, shoulders, chest.
Pull days include all of the pulling muscles, traps/upper back, lats, rear delts, biceps.
My leg days are lowerback and legs.
I like to work all of the muscles that work together on the same day, focusing on compounds and paying less attention to isolation movements. For example: bench press uses chest, shoulders, and tricep. Ill do this first as well as other compound movements, and then finish my workout with isolation stuff for chest and triceps.
edit: my rest days i try to get some form of activity in, and lately ive been doing some punching. Ive been thinking about getting into competitive fighting, but i dont really have the time to train, or the time to deal with the injuries.
for additional cardio, ill do farmer walks after one of my normal weight sessions. I try to do these on the workout days before my rest day, so i have extra time to recover.

hahahah dont read TOO much of my journal. You might learn too much about me... ;)

First 5 were easy. Really had to dig deep for the 6th rep. Pulldowns were easier.
Good. Easy. Etc.

I also ran on the treadmil for a little bit. My lungs and heart are okay for running, but my legs arent. Shins and calves started giving me pain almost immediatly. Nice. LOL. Guess i need to work back up to a decent amount of running, if thats what i want to do

I also often experience shin/calf pain when running, although it usually does not begin for more until 20+ minutes. Many experts recommend that beginners start out at lower intensities to prepare their body/joints for the stress of running. For example you might start out with a fast walk, then in later sessions work your way up to a slow jog, and finally faster runs or sprints. As speed increases, so does the stress on your legs. When sprinting, portions of your legs may experience the stress of more than 4x your body weight.

cocoa: thanks mang. maybe you're right, and it was a little too easy. I determine the weights that I am going to use the week before I do them. So sometimes if I make strength gains greater than what i expected, i will have a pretty easy workout, like last night. But next week ill be bumping all of the weights 5 pounds, so it should be more difficult :)

aka: youre right, i should probably start at a lower intensity. I was just trying to feel it out. Running doesnt really fit into any of my main goals, yet i want to be able to sprint across a parking lot without feeling worn out. Wow I 4x body weight... thats just crazy :) thanks for the reply and stopying in :)

I always have a hard time doing these. I need to really work on form. Next week im going lighter, higher reps. Im also going to stand up and reset after each rep. My form gets sloppy. I caught 140 in the chest on the way up after the 3rd rep. That was nice. It was pretty funny.
Not too difficult. Im thinking about switching up the rep range on these. Ive been doing x5 forever
Still getting used to these. Love them, but wrist troubles, not too bad. Hopefully ill get used to that
Weird. im trying to find ROM and weight and rep range that im comfortable with.

Pretty good reps for chins. Last rep was squuuuuuuuuuueezed out. And 190 was surprisingly difficult. But still pretty damn good.
I should have a had a lighter first set, like i normally do. But I didnt for some reason and the first set was really difficult. The next to sets were much easier, but they were also lighter.
Im not sure what made me want to do these instead of standing db curls. Im not sure which ill do in the future. I guess these were okay, but nothing special. Light weight because I was trying to feel it out.
Including some partial reps. Once I get a good bicep pump, I cant do full ROM hammers
Difficult, but im sure if was more focused I could have gotten more reps out on each set
Easy

dedicated/prunman: thanks for stopping in bro's. Youre right prune, consistancy is the key. Im coming up on 1 year of lifting, and ive been pretty consistant with it and my gains have made me happy.

whoa whoa whoa. first difficult deadlift in a while. It may have something to do with the shrugging done the previous day. Or maybe not. I guess we'll see next week. All desired reps were met, but not easily.
Hmmm Ive been doing these at 5 reps or less forever (as least 5 months). Next week I will be bumping the reps to 8 and lowering the weight. These felt okay though. Just want to switch things up.
Easy
New, I like these. Go atf, then pop up and in the air. The joints will take a while to get used to the impact, so Ill stay low weight for quite a while, but I hope to someday do these heavier.
Skipped these because I didnt feel like waiting for the ab machine. I should have done normal crunches or something, but meh.

I wouldnt say these were easy, I felt kind of wobbly on the way up. But the reps all went, so I cant complain. Ill give these another go next week at the same weight to see if the stabilizers caught up.
Pretty easy
Light, high rep. But I couldnt squeeze out the last rep. Guess that shows how fatigued i was. Whew.
Easyish
I did 2.5s, 5s, and a few spins with the 10s. 10s were waaaaaaaaay heavier than the 5s, and caused some shoulder discomfort. I didnt push it too far, but a little. I figure my rotator will have to get used to it eventually.
Couldnt get one more rep out. Or actually... I quit early rather than hit failure and look like an idiot. An older lady was checking me out all night. She looked pretty good for her age, milf for sure. But my days with older ladies are long gone...

Last pullup was tough. Last two pulldowns were tough. Whoa i thought these were supposed to get easier as i lost weight. To be honest, im not even sure im losing weight. But the reps are getting better, slowly.
First two sets were pretty difficult and maybe even a little cheating. Last set was very easy. Not sure why it works that way.
Grip problems on the second two sets. Not too big of a problem, just regripped and continued without much delay.
Im doing these again because they dont cause me any elbow pain. This is the first time Ive done them in months though, so the weight is pretty light.
I didnt like the ROM on some of these reps, so ill repeat the weight next week.
Very easy.

Im not sure what's happened. Ive become very unmotivated with my life in general. Im still going to work. Im still working out consistantly. But other than that... I dont know what to do. I have a lot of free time and nothing to do with it.
I was thinking about getting a second job, but because my hours vary so much at my current job, its difficult to find something flexible. It would be great if i could find something that I could do at home with my free time, but I havent found anything like that.
I guess my main goal right now is paying off my car. Ive been making 3x-6x payments per month. At that rate I should have it paid off by the end of the year (assuming I dont move out of my dads place). Then, I would be making enough that it would be easy for me to move out.
Im also looking for hobbies, or just something that I can do that I enjoy. Preferably some physical activity. Ive been to the beach twice this week, and really enjoyed just playing in the water. Thats sort of physical ;) Before this week, I hadnt been in the ocean in several years. Sort of seems like a waste.
