That's a shame Gary, cause i think if you got your bf low enough you'd look sick.

Yeah. I will one of these days. Two things holding me back:

1. My girlfriend loves to eat out. I think if I really told her this is what I wanted to do and told her it was important she would cut down on the eating out.

It is her eating out, but she has a huge effect on me and when she eats out all the time it makes me stear away from my diet. I just need someone to do it with me. And there isn't anyone...

2. I think if I got really lean. I would look too skinny at the same. I already have a pretty small build. I'm 5'7" and 170 lbs. Say I dropped down to 165; I think I would look like a twig.

Starting this week I'm following a slightly modified version of the WBB Routine I.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday Night; Chest and Back
Flat Barbell Bench Press; 9 x 185, 7 x 205
Incline Dumb. Press; 8 x 65, 7 x 75
Inline Dumb. Flye; 8 x 55, 5 x 65

Chin-Ups; 8 x bw, 6 x bw
Deadlifts; 7 x 345, 6 x 355
**My vision went blurry after doing both of these sets. Pretty intense for me**

Barbell Rows; 8 x 135, 8 x 135
**I've been progressing with these for a while now. Feels good finally*

Shrugs; 3 x 225, 3 x 205
**Haven't done free weight before. Will start out at a lower weight(something more comfortable) next week**

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Worked out at my old gym tonight. It was too damn crowded. Still don't know exactly what I'm going to do. I NEED a partner again.

Might see if my parents will let me turn half of the garage into a 'gym.'

Sorry to munge into your journal again, but how bent over do you go for your rows? I try to have around a 70 degree angle at my hips, just curious what you use.

I'd guess probably around the same as you, 70 degrees.

Tuesday - Cardio

Did intervals for 20 minutes today:
5 minute incline walk
5 minute run
5 minute incline walk
5 minute run, increased the speed each 30 seconds/1 minute

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today running killed me. My legs and knees feel so weak. I'm exhausted.

syntekz

Wed Afternoon - Cardio

15 minutes of cardio, intervals
5 minute incline walk
5 minute run, increasing speed every 30 seconds
5 minute incline walk/jog

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kept my heart rate in between 160 and 190 beats.

**My knees are acheing once again. Any suggestions?**

Sebi
03-06-2002, 11:24 AM

Squats; 8 x 245, 6 x 255

Hack Squats; 8 x 315, 8 x 365

Single-Leg Extension; 6 x 135, 5 x 125
Like the machine at my gym much better than work. A lot harder as well.

SLDL's; 8 x 175, 8 x 235

Standing Calf Raises;
**My calves kept cramping when I tried to warm them up. Couldn't do these.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I joined the gym for 7 months tonight. Gonna try to get back into it once again. I'm ready to get big, or at least try to...

Friday Night - Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps

Military Press In Rack : 8 x 115, 8 x 125
Seated Dumb. Press : 8 x 55, 6 x 60
**Finally have access to dumbells more than 50 pounds. Previously, I would do these first before any other shoulder exercise. I've gotten stronger than a couple months ago.**

Rear-Lateral Raise : 8 x 40, 8 x 40

Close-Grip Press : 8 x 160, 8 x 160
Skull Crusher : 8 x 85, 8 x 90

Barbell Curl : 8 x 85, 4 x 105
Hammer Curls : 6 x 50

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My bicep and tricep lifts were much stronger compared to my other routine where I would train back/chest before doing them.

Great workout!

**Gotta love those who feel the need to bang weights around, eh?

syntekz
03-11-2002, 07:16 PM
I did cardio this afternoon. 15 minute intervals like usual.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday Night; Chest and Back

Flat Barbell Bench Press; 8 x 205, 6 x 195
**The first set was obviously TOO hard. I wouldn't have been able to get more than 2 reps if I would have stuck with 205.**

Incline Dumb. Press; 8 x 70, 6 x 70
**The bench drained me. I couldn't handle much tonight.**

Incline Dumb. Flye; 8 x 50, 5 x 60
**I couldn't remember what I did the first set. Meant to do 65, but I swear I put back the 50 lb dumbells. :p **

Chin-Ups; 8 x bw, 8 x bw
**These are getting easier and easier each week. Only a few more weeks and I'll try doing weighted.**

Deadlifts; 8 x 355, 6 x 360
**I think this might be a personal best. A while back I had 4 or 5 x 360 I think. It's been so long.**

Barbell Rows; 8 x 145, 8 x 145

Smith-Machine Shrugs; 8 x 225, 8 x 225
**I like these much better on smith.**

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow. Tonight I really trained to failure on everything. I didn't do as much weight as I would have liked on some things, but I really couldn't.

I almost puked deadlifting and finally did (in my mouth) when I got home. Peanut butter, yummy!

This is free-weight bench. Before I was using a smith machine. I've gotten stronger with my bench, but it has always sucked. No clue why.

Tuesday - Cardio, Abs

Why does cardio make you feel so clensed when you're done?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Intervals for 21 minutes today. Slowly increasing the time as well as the intensity:

**I reached 9.0 mphs a couple times today and kept my heart rate at around 190 when I was running.

I did 2 sets of weighted decline crunches and...
2 sets of weight crunch machine.

syntekz

Wed Afternoon - Cardio

Did 15 minutes of sprints/intervals on treadmill.

Pain in my shins/calves(muscle pain) from doing the steap incline is starting to go away.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Woke up this morning and my lower back and shoulders are sore from Monday's workout.

Hopefully that won't affect my squats and SLDLs tonight...

syntekz
03-13-2002, 06:42 PM
Wed - Legs

Squats; 8 x 245, 11 x 260
Once again I've got a new personal best. Previously my best squat was 5 x 275. That was with retarded form as well (hip problems).

On the second set I had a spotter and I only needed help on the last rep. It's amazing though, how just having someone near by makes you lift so much harder.

Hack Squats; 8 x 365, 6 x 405
The last rep was a negative. I knew I couldn't do a full rep without assistance.

Single-Leg Extension; 6 x 135, 5 x 125
Same as last week.

SLDL's; 8 x 225, 6 x 255
These are increasing very quickly. I think it's because of my lower back strength. These heavy weights don't bother my lower back like they did when I had previously done SLDL's.

Standing Calf Raises;
**My calves kept cramping when I tried to warm them up.
Once again I couldn't do calves. I'm going to start doing them at work after my cardio.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I also did some cable crunches (front and to the sides for obliques as well as roman twists).

I did cardio for around 20 minutes, 1.75 miles:
5 minutes incline walk
5 minute run at 7.0 mph

5 minute incline walk
5 minute run at 7.5 mph

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was going for 30 minutes, but my legs cramped up on me and I couldn't keep walking or running.

Friday Night - Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps

Very dissapointing workout tonight!$&@^!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Standing Military Press : 8 x 115 + negative, 6 x 115 + negative

Seated Dumb. Press : 6.5 x 55 + negative, 6 x 55 + negative

Rear-Lateral Raise : 8 x 45, 8 x 40

Close-Grip Press : 8 x 155, 8 x 155

Skull Crusher : 8 x 85, 6 x 95
Did about 6 close-grip presses after each set.

Barbell Curl : 8 x 95, 5 x 95 + negative

Hammer Curls : 6 x 50

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't have a spotter tonight. My intensity was completely gone and the weights I was throwing around sucked.

Bah!

Monday Afternoon - Cardio, Abs

I did 15 minutes on the treadmill, in intervals.

I did 2 sets of a decline weighted crunch and 2 sets of the ab machine at 170 lbs.

Monday Night; Chest and Back

Flat Barbell Bench Press; 7 x 195, 7 x 195 +1 negative
**The first set was obviously TOO hard. I wouldn't have been able to get more than 2 reps if I would have stuck with 205.**

Incline Dumb. Press; 9 x 70, 4 x 70

Incline Dumb. Flye; 9 x 50, 8 x 60

Chin-Ups; 8 x bw, 5 x bw + 20
**I added weight tonight. It was so much harder to do. Might not do it again next week, I need to work my way up I think.**

Deadlifts; 7 x 365, 7 x 365
**Another personal best!**

Barbell Rows; 8 x 155, 7 x 155
**Can't stop me.**

SUPERSET
Barbell Shrugs; 8 x 135, 8 x 135, 8 x 135
Dumb. Shrugs; 8 x 65, 8 x 65, 8 x 65
**Something like that. Don't remember exact reps.**

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was dissapointed with my bench tonight. And thought that it was going to be a bad night, but my back exercises made up for it.

Tuesday - Cardio

Put me in a pine box and ship me home!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did 28 minutes of intervals. Got my speed up to 10mph at one point and had my heart rate over 190.

My stomach still has a knot in it from over an hour ago.

syntekz
03-20-2002, 07:42 PM
Wed - Legs

Leg Press; 8 x 540, 4 x 630, 9 x 540
Squats are out. Leg press is in.

Hack Squats; 5 x 405, 8 x 385, 8 x 315

Single-Leg Extension; 6 x 135, 6 x 125
These are so damn hard.

SLDL's; 6 x 245, 6 x 245

Calf Raise, Legg Press Machine; 10 x 225, 8 x 300, 8 x 330
I finally was able to do some sort of calf exercise!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did more volume tonight than I normally would. Going to try a little expiramentation I think...

I'm not cutting anymore, but I've lost a good lb or so.

I have just been eating until I'm full instead of going beyond that which is what I've always done in the past. I'm eating healthy and consistently.

Everyday Saturday I go to the China Buffet in town and fill myself up until I can't eat anymore.

And on weekends I don't get too hungry, so I only eat when I'm hungry.

Friday Afternoon - Cardio

I did a total of 25 minutes of cardio. Figured out how to actually use the features of the treadmill.

*Created a little program so I wouldn't have to change the speeds and inclines throughout my run.*
