i'm putting 2 eggs in my diet a day..... 1 egg = 71% of daily cholesterol based on 2,000 calorie diet... should i be OK, since i'm consuming up towards 3,500 - 4,000?? i'm just a little worried cuz i have somewhat high cholesterol already..

The best thing to lower cholesterol is exercise, which you're obviously already doing.

I would keep it monitored (maybe get it checked every 4-6 months) and if the eggs worry you that much, just remove the yolks.

Dietary cholesterol has a negligible effect on serum cholesterol. What do your numbers look like?

By the way, cholesterol and eggs isn't an issue at all. I can't believe people still suggest this to be true! Almost every hormone you have is cholesterol-based except for protein-based hormones like insulin and growth hormone. The lower your cholesterol levels after the age of 55, the higher the chance of cancer!

very interesting, good read! thanks..

yup.. cholesterols are a very important part of the cellular membrane, and provide rigidity and support.

without the cholesterol.. your whole body would collapse on itself.

cholesterol is a sterol like most hormones testosterone, as well as steroids

i heard somewhere that 80% of body cholesterol is produced within the body itself... and only 20% of your total body cholesterol actually comes from diet.
