Hey guys.. okay.. what if you ate at say, 1000 cals over maintnaice.. but dun enough cardio to burn 1500 cals.. which would put you 500 below.. would you save more muslce by dieting this way due to the amount of food you continue to consume?

Well you would lose weight because you would be in a calorie deficit, but with that amount of cardio you would run an increased risk of catabolizing muscle tissue. It would take a large amount of cardio to burn 1500 cals, and I would not count on the accuracy of most of the cardio machines (calories burned reading).

Another issue would long endurance oriented activities can cause a shift in the way muscle fibers behave, i.e. more endurance oriented and less fast twitch.
