I can't see the pictures. But I'm assuming it's a 'before and after' type of thing. What is the weight difference in the pictures assuming I'm correct?

ITHURTZ

A. Has your strength increased?
B. Is your diet good?
C. How dedicated to lifting have you been?

Who cares about curls. What about some deadlift and squat poundages? That's what packs the mass on bro.

JustinASU
10-06-2003, 08:55 PM
Oh and by the way I just saw your before/after shots....Dont sell yourself short you've made great progress...keep it up! You may wanna go on a mini cut or just keep bulking. You definitely arent carrying too much bf quite yet.

U put on 20lbs and can bench 300lbs after 8 months of training and u are complaining. Do u realise how dumb that sounds?

Then I think you answered the question you posed in the subject. Weight lifting wasn't a waste of time at all because of your strength gains. I can't see any definite changes in your body, but if your strength went up, that's a clear positive change from spending your time lifting.

PS - I eat when I eat as well. I also sleep when I sleep.

man what are you talking about? i see a fair bit of change.. things don't happen overnight bro.. keep eating the good stuff and lifting the heavy stuff :)

justin- na i havnet really started deads yet, and as for legs, iv moved up to the plate weighted squat press. so maybe in a month ill finally be doing squats. i guess im to shy.

as for the mini cut and bulkin thing, i try to eat, but then i fall asleep and miss 2 eatings. and i have YET to reach 200g of protein a day, im workin on that now.

westy- ya i am complaining, cause after 8 months i expected to EXPLODE in size vs last time. i guess i just get harder faster than i get mass

thanks for all the support guys, its winter time so its time to eat like a bear, and hopefully i will, also though about rippin in some 1-test to give me some happy thoughs, just remember these pics, they will be a thing of the past!! (hopefully)

Until you get your diet down pat you won't the changes you want to. Dude, you have to get the diet straight. Your body can't grow without the fuel. You have to eat mass to get mass.

With that in mind, you won't see much more results from 1-test than you would from creatine if you aren't eating right. I'd trained for 4 years and only put on 20lbs. When I started eating right I put on 20 more pounds in year. That's how important it is.

ITHURTZ

i dont squat, never have in my life

as far as eating goes, so far what i ate today
430am banana, 2 mini pound cakes and ajuice box (not the usual)
10am 1 can of brunswick sardines in mustard followed by weight gainer.

at 120clock i plan to make some eggs between 6-9eggs

3 o clock i plan to eat something else not sure what. prob tuna and something else

6-7pm dinner, usually some kinda meat and noodles

915pm after gym take weight gainer and go to bed.

if this is eating wrong then i give up, cause i make myself follow this schedule close as possible, prob wouldnt help either that on fri sat and part of sun i eat maybe 1000-1500cals a day:(

You really need to squat and deadlift. Benching alone isn't going to help. Neither are the curls. As HY said, your diet is super crucial. Bodybuilders have different requirements for diet than PL'ers from what I've read and seen. Bodybuilding, IMO, is all about eating the right things, in the right amounts, at the right times....and lifting heavy. That includes squats and deads! So don't be a sissy! SQUAT!

As to your pics, I agree you don't show huge improvements, but a 300lb bench is nothing to laugh at.

Max-Mex
10-07-2003, 11:27 AM
One other thing, the fact that you can do a 300 bench and only a 150 dead says it all. Very unbalanced. I know it's your first time, but keep at it!

ITHURTZ
10-07-2003, 03:29 PM
alright wed is my leg day, and if the body builder/per trainer is there that i talk to, ill have him help me with squats so i get it down, and as for deadlifts, im not sure i know the proper form for that, but ill be lookin. this thread gives me the moto to start squatin, hope i dont **** my pants when i first start:( lol

Max-Mex

just be sure you take a dump before your workout and you'll be fine.

it doesn't take a nerd to figure out how to post a pic. I mean look at all these other meatheads that can do it.

Click the "post reply" button at the bottom of the page then check out this attachment for more info.

And yeah, there's a bit more to deadlifting that just picking up the bar but that's it essentially. Use your legs, not your back.

Perhaps not a nerd, but definitely whiney and impatient.

Would you like to define your terms of what a nerd is? I'm sure a lot of the well-educated people of this board would love to hear your opinion.

You look good man. I can see a positive difference in the two pics. Good job.

Just lose the negative/whiney attitude and that would be a major gain for you.

:withstupi best advice you could take.

Rome wasnt built in a day and neither is a decent physique, unless ur name is Chasey!

Make sure that you consistently eat, lift, sleep big and you will become big, Simple as that. Oh squat and deadlifts are a must in my opinion, so long as correct form is adopted.

lol ok, here is my definition of a nerd.
nerd- mangled hair, acne, glasses, carries books all the time and skinny as HELL. speaks in computer language and is always inthe science department making up **** that i cant even say.
there ya go:)

as for the whining thing that go towards postin pics or cause i wanna lift 100000lbs now not later. and if u wanna see me complain, my legs should get fat on them to when u take weight gainer not just belly!!

dude you should be proud you dont look 200 lbs and i would say by looking at you there is now way you could bench 300 or curl 70 lb dumbells so just imagine how much your strength will increase when you actually make the gains you desire

It's hard to believe you warm up with 225lb just by looking at your physique.
And you started curls with 40lb?!

ITHURTZ
10-09-2003, 12:51 PM
o i love how i am underestimated!

ya in jan 2003 i started curling 40lb dumbells. i kept a log on my computer on my progress. well i did start actually curling i think in 8th grade, i started of with 10lb dumbellstuttut ya i was a weak kid, 15yo and i couldnt even bench the bar, 30lbs was my starting bench weight. and beleive i can bench 300max, but its a HEAVY MOFO. id take pics but its nothin like a videos proof.

June 16th bench 230 5 times, 235 3 times
June 30th bench 235 4.5-5times 245 3times
July 7th bench 235 5 times 245 3 times
July 21st bench 240 5/6times 250 3 times dumbell bench 100lb 5 times
July 28th bench 245 5 times 285 1 time

this is direct from my computer log that i put in once and a while.
these reps are UNASSITED, if i needed help going up then i dont count it. i dont NOT rock back and forth in curling, that is standing up, just bi's. thats the last time i put progress into it july 29th.
as of now (before i ****ed up my arm) 260x5bench 300 max and 130x5rep standing barbell curl.

Congrats.... Your chest and arms got a little bigger.

If you really want to start seeing results, start working your deadlifts, rows, squats, and overhead presses as hard as your benches and curls

as of according to that. i tried my best to remember the form when i went to the gym, i put 225 on the barbell and tried best ic old to do it like that guy, i do reps of 5 and did that, but possibly felt room for 5 more. but i feel it more in the mid/lower back area. and i didnt feel all that right "dead lifting", maybe cause iv never done it before. but ya my back is all sore now.:D

Don't get discuraged, it is so much eisier to gain lean mass when you are starting out thin. Do your research, protien rich foods and suplements should become your best friends. Push as many calories and continue to work hard in the gym and you will see results. There is no way to good size over night, have some patience bro.

u wanna hit over 200grams of protein a day? start eating a lot more tuna and chicken. cold cuts, lean meats. screw the weight gainer crap, get your self a quality protein supplement.

ITHURTZ

im not on weight gainer, i am on PRO RATED protein, i try to drink 4-6 scoops (1 scoop is a serving @ 22grams per) a day
