I read in a book that the best diet for weight lifting is 60% carb 20% fat and 20% protein is this correct? Since from what i read on here it doesn't seem to be the policy you use.

As hemants points out well respected body builders have used such a macronutrient breakdown with great success. And as Bradley says, the carbs are protein sparing, meaning your protein requirements would be reduced when they're that high.
