I want to add a handful of nuts to my packed lunch. What kind would be "best" and why?

almonds
best ratio of protein/fat/etc. Relatively cheap. Fibrous. Tasty.
cashews and brazil nutes are a close second but they tend to be pricey
if you need more fat, macadamia nuts are your fatty friend.

It would depend on what type of fat you were trying to increase in your diet (mono., poly., saturated). Different nuts will have different ratios as far as poly/mono/sat fats are concerned. Walnuts have the highest amount of polyunsaturated fat, where as almonds contain a high amount of monounsaturated fat.
I really do not think it is going to make that much of a difference what nut you choose, as most all contain beneficial fats. I would just go with the one that you prefer, tastewise that is.
