View Full Version : cutting and now mucle cramps?

i just started cutting, using animal cuts, and daily totals of 300 carbs and 300 protien broken up into 5 meals, and no carbs 4 hours before i go to bed. fats are low but i am taking omega 3's & 6's to get some healthy fats, im cycling my carbs to low to higher so i keep my fullness, but no more than 300 a day, now im noticing muscle cramps , is that from the lack of salt? or somthing else?

Could be a number of factors. The two most common for myself are not enough water and not enough potassium.

i use a potassium chloride substitute instead of regular salt just for this reason -- and besides the fact our diets do not need any additional salt.
u can buy it in the spice section - it's cheap

so bannanas would be a good thing to eat everyday wile cutting, i think i will try that. and i usually i drink at lest a gallon a day, so that should be ok

Supplement with taurine if the above advice does not work for you.

Two words. Rigor mortis. Energy is not consumed in muscle contraction, but is used to maintian concerntration gradients in muscle cells. When these gradients reach equilibrium ie. when you are dead the muscles contract ie. cramp.
Eat some food and go for a swim.
