is it really better to drink gatorade when u work out or is water? cuz i hear a lot of contradicting things about sport drinks and water

I always drink gatorade. The extra carbs during the workout doesn't hurt. I've not seen anything to steer me clear of drinking gatorade while working out I just don't overdue it. Outside of the gym though its all water.

I wouldn't make a habit of drinking gatorade outside of the gym like HY pointed out. My buddy works construction and he started drinking tons of gatorade all day everyday and he really added some fat because of it.

When your working out though gatorade is great, I drink it when I have it, if not I just drink water.

gatorade has too many electrolytes for your body
I believe the correct formula for your body is
3 Parts Water
1 Part Gatorade- drink that any you will benefit much more

anyways there is nothing wrong with gatorade, HY has great advice.

Gatorade is fine. Some carbs during your workout can keep you in an anabolic state and help carry you through the workout session.

would putting some dextrose in a bottle of water and sipping it during workout be just as effective?

Yep...the point is to get carbs in your system. Doesn't specifically have to be gatorade.
