Chris- was that a serious question? Do you keep in contact with them or something? Also, thank you.

I'm glad that thanks to my "I'm more ripped than most bodybuilders" training partner Eric, I can get some of my videos up online. I realize that most people may doubt when someone my size says they can squat over 3.5 xBW on an internet forum, but at least I can show you guys not only the form I use, but that I can actually do it. I also am always honest about the powerlifting gear I wear so that is obviously a big part of my lifting success so far.

I am now 12 days out!!!!!!!!

Yes it was Chris. We are currently trying to work out a sponsorship with Jon and 3-4 of the athletes from his gym. I have spoken with him several times and he is a really good guy. We hope to have something boned up after Thanksgiving. I am going to try to get them to post here, but as you can imagine they are reticent. Obviously, we would strictly moderate any of their posts and the subsequent responses from others. I will keep you updated.

You never did answer the question...

I only got 4secs of the video, btw that's one wide, really wide stance you got there to squat. Why go so wide?

Chris Rodgers
11-25-2003, 07:58 PM
Because it works. ;)

It's all about leverage and putting myself in the position I have the most potential to move big weights. For me, in that squat suit it's very wide! Some people like narrow stances, but they are just afraid to get on the box and strengthen their hips. They are mostly quad squatters, where I use much more hip and back strength to move my weights.

Hmmm...I might be considered strong if I were as light as you. Heh.

Great squat, brah. I thought your head was going to blow up on that long descent, but the bar fired straight up, much to my dismay.

...

Delight. To my delight.

I say you got a few pounds over 600 in you.

Chris Rodgers
11-30-2003, 10:34 AM
Hehe. It takes me about 3 times as long to descend then it does to come up. Going down nice and slow like that is what has enabled me to keep my form the best and obviously in that suit my speed out of the hole isn't an issue.

6 days baby!!

Damn, looks like you could hit 600 no problem.

Thanks BM.

3 days baby!! I love this moving up a weight class thing. I just had a big double Whopper for lunch. :D

I fly down tomorrow morning and weigh-in Friday morning/afternoon. I'll post my results as soon as I get back on Monday night, but they can probably be found somewhere on Fortifiediron.com over the weekend because I will most likely call my friend who runs that site after I compete. :dj:
