I'm amazed when I read on here about people that can take down 4000 calories a day. I'm in complete awe!

Right now its about 1pm
and I've taken down the following:
.75 cup protein shake + 16oz water
2tbsp oil (hemp, flax)
2 cups oats + 1 cup water +2tbsp honey
16 oz coffee
1 servings fish oil
.5 lb ground turkey breast
1 cup brown rice
1 cup pasta
1 cup lettuce
2 piece of bacon
1 chicken breast

and still sitting here in front of me I have
1 cup pasta
1 cup veal
.5 lb ground turkey breast
1 cup brown rice
1 serving fish oil
I have to get down by 3pm to clear my stomach in time for my preworkout shake before the gym!
forget about pw, dinner and my late night feeding
*LOL* thats another huge list!

and this is just to maintain!

How do you guys do it?!

1. Insert food in mouth.
2. Chew.
3. Swallow.
4. Goto 1.

It's simple, puke it out but don't report it on the journal.:)

It only starts out difficult. You have to start using a strict time table for your eating. And a bucket or two of N-Large wouldn't kill you either. Here's how I started out:

8am Breakfast
1cup oatmeal (1cup dry, it was much more when done)
6-8 egg whites scrambled
half serving of N-Large

9:45am
1 serving N-Large

11am Lunch
1lb (+/-) ground turkey
1lb steamed carrots
as much rice as I could cook in the pot (id guess 2cups dry but I dont know)

12:45pm
1 serving N-Large

2:00pm Snack
half serving N-Large
either candy bars or some nutrition bar (3 or 4 usually)

4:00pm Gym

5:30pm Dinner
2lb Foreman Grilled Chicken Breast
1lb Steamed Carrots
1 (yes, exactly 1) broccoli crown (broccoli is gross)
6 potato mashed potatos (hope that makes sense)

6:45pm
1 serving N-Large

9:00pm Bedtime
half serving N-Large
1 apple sliced and smothered in peanut butter

The real key is that you don't have to eat fast, but you have to eat. There were a lot of days where by the time I finished a meal, it was time for the snack or shake or whatever. And by the time I finished that, the next meal was upon me. I would literally eat all day long for almost 2 weeks. Then the lifting caught up and large amounts of food just seemed like "just enough."

The faster I eat, generally the more I can put down. That goes for drinking shakes too. Sure, the bowel movements are hell, but you've gotta do what ya gotta do.

Yeah but did it start that way? I can do it now, but in the beginning I could never eat volume fast. It would eventually just backup and I've have a roadblack in my throat.

I just chew and swallow. What's so hard about that?

SF are you sure your not a Prolab representative?! :D

4000 cals is a sinch so long as your not doing it with rabbit food, Whole eggs, PB and whole milk will easily get you up to 4000 cals along with your other food. Also like others have said set strict times aside for eating and ensure that you get your food in 6-8 meals. It will be no problem, and some McDonalds won't hurt ;)

I use a central line in the neck. Much easier to get those extra calories.

Combine that with weight gainer, and protein suppositories, and I rake in upwards of 8500 cals a day.

its hard to get to 4000 cals when youre eating turkey, chicken, and rice.

include some beef, peanuts, PB, Salmon or other fish.

eat foods higher in calories.

dammit put some butter on that bread.

dont fear fat

4000+ is easy provided you just eat whatever.

Mine while I was somewhat watching what I ate:

1 apple
2 bananas
6 slices of bread
1 cup cottage cheese
4 large eggs
3 servings of whey
2 bowls of grits
7 cups of milk
1 cup of mozzarella cheese
2 servings of Muscle Milk
2 tbsp of natty PB
1 cup of oats
1 tbsp olive oil
1 orange
1 can of tuna
2 cups of lettuce
8 oz of beef

I'm not sure of the exact meal combinations, but some of that was shakes and so forth. Total was ~4400 calories, 159g F/386g C/354g P, at 33%/33/33 ratios.

I have wondered from time to time if an IV would be a cool way to eat all day.

Lucky hospitalized bastards. Never even have to get up to eat or go to the can.

Hehe, it would seem like an IV would be an easy way to get calories and maintain a near perfect metabolism.

Unfortunately, there's a little something called "infection" that puts a hamper on that deal. :)

Holy ****. Someone other than me has advocated fat.

Fat is good, just not too much saturated fat, and keep clear of the trans fats too.

Calories are energy! A measurement in the metric system! More fat = more energy. More energy = more intensity whilst lifting. More intensity whilst lifting = grand results.

I speak solely from a "I want size and strength" standpoint than general health. I'm told eating sticks of butter would be bad for the heart.

*Stops eating his stick of butter.*

It takes time, and getting used to. I never thought I would be able to eat 5000 calories a day, but I did it regularly this past summer. This is what I ate:

Whole eggs (like 8 in a day)
Lots of 1% milk
Lots of oats
Brown Rice
chicken breasts
tuna
protein shakes
olive oil
yams

The cleaner the food.....the harder it is to take in more calories.
