if one used thermogenics while bulking and then offset this with additional calories, wouldl this be benefitial for nutrient partitioning or not?

I do not think using an EC will be of much use when bulking, mainly due to the high intake of caffeine that would come about when using an EC.

I do not know of any reason to not supplement with green tea when following a hypercaloric diet, but I have not looked into it thoroughly. The antioxidants in green tea would be beneficial, regardless of your current goals.

Also keep in mind that green tea can blunt your appetite, which could be a concern for those who have a hard time consuming enough calories.

The best way to go about preventing fat gain when bulking is by concentrating on gaining a small amount of weight each week, and also proper macronutrient timing.
