Okay. So here goes. I haven't done a journal of any kind up until now. I'm a 19-year old college student, currently at about 5'8". 164 lbs. I'd estimate my bodyfat to be in the 10-15% range, hopefully I'll get some real numbers soon. About a year and a half ago I weighed 226 at 5'5", ridiculous right? I know. After almost a year of dieting with a balanced diet, an ECA stack, and semi-regular excersize (mostly jogging) I lost 60 lbs, and it was sooo easy. Then I starting lifting, and fell in love. I lifted consistenly with a good routine and diet for about 8 months, right up until schoolwork and a job slammed me in the face. Not to mention, I travel back home alot and I don't have a gym membership in my hometown anymore, that didn't help the process. I'd say I've been out of training for about a month, which isn't horrible, but it feels horrible now. I quit my job so now it's just schoolwork and training, easy right? So, here I am, 2 days back in and ready to get serious all over again. My first short-term goal is to get my weights back up to where they were by christmas-time, so that gives me over 3 weeks. I've basically kept a 'common-sense' diet going for a long time, although I'll admit I slacked over this past month of no lifting.

-regain previous strength levels
-reduce bodyfat to <10%
-increase cardiovascular health

Post if you care, it doesn't matter to me too much since this will be a good spot for me to keep track.

I was going to try to post my exact diet numbers over the last 2 days, but I haven't had the time to do it yet, I'm going to be thorough with this, but I have 10 hours of class today so finding time is tough. Here's at least my first days back into training..

11/30/03 - Back/Biceps

Incline rows (it's that machine with the post to put plates on)
45x12, 70x8, 70x8

Pullups (overhand, widegrip)
8, 6, 6

Reverse grip barbell rows - 135x8, 135x8, 135x6

Lat pulldowns - 115x12, 140x8, 140x6

Db rows - 90x8, 90x8, 90x8

Preacher curl- 65x4, 55x6, 55x6

Straight bar curl- 65x7, 65x6, 65x4

seated db curls (both arms)- 25x8, 25x8, 25x6

cable curls- 80x6, 80x4

cable ab cruches (using tricep U-bar with knees on ground)
140x15, 140x20, 140x15

This was my first day back into it, and it was rough. It felt great, but it was disappointing trying to do alot of my old weights. By the time I got to biceps I had nothing left, I was failing halfway through alot of sets that were cake before. Oh well, you can't expect to sit around for a month and keep your strength. The big thing about this back day was that I lost one of my straps, and I don't deadlift without straps. I'm really big on deadlifts, they're my absolute favorite, but without straps I decided to skip it today.

arnolds (overhead db press) - 55x8, 55x8, 55x6

db lateral raises - 25x8, 30x8, 25x8

smith military press - 90x7, 90x6, 70x8

bb frontal raises - 50x9
db frontal raises - 25x8, 25x8

close grip bench - 135x7, 135x5, 95x12, 45x25

cable tricep on lat pulldown machine - 60x4, 50x8, 50x8

cable tricep extensions- 40x6, 40x6

Another weak day, I can't believe I lost so much, it feels like I'm back about 3 months. I haven't been eating alot though, that could be a factor. I'll post my diet from these days asap, it just takes time to enter all the stuff into fitday, etc.

My name and lineage is mainly german, but I'm American.
