View Full Version : I'm upping my calories about 200 per day. Take a look at the totals for the....

end of the day. I was at 1800 and I've decided to go for 2000 so I can continue to bulk up.


Total: 2004
Fat: 81 727 36%
Sat: 11 97 5%
Poly: 13 113 6%
Mono: 26 230 12%
Carbs: 143 534 27%
Fiber: 10 0 0%
Protein: 183 732 37%
Alcohol: 0 0 0%


do those numbers look alright for a 5'11 170 pound dude trying to gain some weight???

I'm curious as to what other people will say.

But I say.....ONLY 2000 calories?
Are you aiming for the slow bulk?
Has it been working slowly so far?

dude I don't know whats wrong with me. I haven't been closely calorie counting but I have been gaining weight while taking in anywhere from 1600-2000 calories per day.

2000 is the highest I've done. I gained almost 10 pounds on 1600 per day and even added some fat. So 2000 may pack some fat on me, I hope not. My waist is 33 inches and I don't want it to get any bigger. I think if I steadily shoot for 2000 I will notice some sort of results. I will try to gage it from there.

I'm about the same stats weight and height wise as you.
(Hardgainer, heh)

I'll try to count tomorrow though I usually just try to stuff my face....with healthy stuff.

I'd say start bulking @ 2500 and go from there

Those numbers may be good for now, or were good in the past. But you'll need to increase them as your bodies needs increase if you want to continue growth.

No. Well I guess it can be good, but when youre trying to bulk it sucks to spend so much on food!

Seems awful low, find your maintiance and eat 300cals above that daily. My advice...

It is low.. but he's prolly endo.. like myself.. i can bulk, adding about 0.5-1lb a week on 2800 cals, im 180 @ 5/9 and 15+bf% :(
