Hi everyone thanks in advance for your help and support Ive been out of the gym for over 20 years and promise myself I would change that. In March of this year I became mad enough with myself to do some major re-inventing of my goals and life in general. Birthdays tend to do that. So background, Male on 3-27-03 tip the scales at 298 listed at about 26.8 % BF, My G P doctor OK for me to head back to the gym. Two years ago I was hit by a car and had right side damage to knee, arm, shoulder, and ribs. After PT Im close to 90% pre-wreck condition, but still do find it hard to run at any distance, still take a cane for any long walks. 3 miles or more mostly for just in case. Leg still gives out at times.

Rest Sleep 7 hours

Weights off day Full body work out trying to get use to the movements again, been a long time since my last real set!

General Comments
Still fighting a cold of Flu spending most of my off days in the house. Getting started again, Silly me took 20 years off from the gym. But no more!

Good to hear that you are getting back into it. Sometimes it just takes one of those days to get you to realize what you need to do. Good to see you making the changes necessary.

I intend to start slow before building a routine. I tend to be quite exuberant at times so Ill try to prevent that as I progress back into this lifestyle again.

yikes = 1500-2400 cals, I cant remember when my cals were that low. I would think you need a little more carbs in their, even if it is just one small bowl of oatmeal or some fruits/ veggies somewhere.......

Neck 18 Biceps right 17 5/8 left 17 Chest 48 3/4 The Bummer waist 42 Guess that what getting old an 25 years behind a desk and 20 years out of the gym gets ya. Thigh right 26 1/4 left 26 Id guess right leg down due to the wreck and now being able to use it most of the year. Calfs right 18 left 18

Sleep : 6 1/2 hours, Durning my work days I on 12 off 12 but every 4 day I work I get 4 days off. Sleep much better on off days. I tend to work out around 10:00 AM then try to eat and sleep and work. :scratch:

I am curious about what foods you ate to get 77% of your calories from protein. My gym was also closed for Christmas. It bothers me when something beyond my control like that interferes with workouts.

That Day I had 25oz of Chicken Roasted and a Liter of portein shake. I did let Fitday come up with the totals, and assume they are correct. and This was a cheat day for me as I broke down and had two 7" waffles and butter. Which is the first time since March I had that much bread product at one time. They were a sub for Tuna and egg whites which I would normally ate at that meal.

Kind bummed found out Monday I m going to have surgery last of the month on my right wrist and that it will have to be in a cast 70* down angle off a vertical plan which is not going to fair well at all for lifting, guess I go to being a lefty for about 6 weeks something about it has to be bend that way to insure I retain movement after it all done. I am sorry to hear about your surgery. I know how a cast and arm injury can interfere with daily activities. There are likely to be a number of upper body exercises that you can do with your arm while wearing the cast such as gripless shrugs, the lat raise machine, and the rear lat raise machine.

Hey thanks guys, :whiner: I'm just playing my own fiddle right now. I hate taking any break like this. The guys that own the gym I go to are all Pro-Bodybuilders. So I plan to get with they see if they can work something up for me during the 5 to 8 weeks. I've been simulating the way the doc said the position of the cast would have to be. It going to be a pain just to do normal things, Guess it time for and electric razor as my left hand, surgical steel, and my face would not be a pretty sight!

Well the doctor wanted to try one more thing before cutting me open. So weve play drain the thing again. This time he drained it from three sides and has me in a steel forearm to fingers brace. Have not figured out what I can do just yet other than machine leg what ever. Right hand is very limited in movement. Other than finger tips I have no movement. So well see what happens, trying to get use it having a plate in my palm feels a little strange!

The brace sounds unpleasant. I hope it does not interfere much with your activities. I imagine that push/pull exercises would not be possible with that hand, but you probably still could use several upper body machines. Obvious choices include machines where the pressure is against your elbow or upper arm, such as the lat raise machine. Less obvious choices include gripless exercises, such as doing gripless shrugs in the standing calf raise. If you would like to do one-armed movements with your unbraced arm, then HS machines could work well. Good luck.

Well Now the Good news,
That dam brace is gone and Doc says I can go back to the gym as long as I'm not silly about it, So tomorrow well be the first full body workout since early Jan. What little Ive been able to do was not really worth posting, (Good News) is being a couch bum for the most part of 2 months only cost 9 lbs I went from 250 my lowest up to 259, so Im really happy after dropping 50.lbs Just to update all On 3-27-03 I started this little trip, I tipped the scales at 302 lbs Goal is at 6 ft to be 230 ripped. A three-year plan, which is my birthday present for turning 50 to myself!
Will up date this tomorrow after the workout!

Felt great to be back in the gym took it easy like the Doc said, and as you can see. Ill have to work back in to moving the wrist that much, no pain really, some of the movements felt a little strange. Other than that it was a good day, in the 70s and sun, has me more in the mood for my trip south end of the month. Talked to the girls tonight it was 85 in Naples, 12 days on the beach.

I m in a great mood night 9 hours till my first day off in over two weeks, add to that I start My vacations so I dont have to be me for 12 days, plan to tan and run the beach the whole time, well after a 14 hour drive that is, Ill be off line most of the time so updates shall be a little slight for a few weeks. Well be rested and ready to go when I get back know of a gym close to the house so I still be getting in a workout. Other than that be never less at leisure than when at leisure.

OK, Back at it took and 2 week off took stock on the last year! Part of my goals worked and some OK should have worked harder!

Starting new on April 12th and wanting to continue to drop more weight till I get to 215 again hopefully without the loss of muscle if possible. I plan to will start at a 2860 calorie a day limit. Fit Day has me at total of 3688 calories a day with lifestyle and basal intake. The plan, 30 min of cardio everyday upon waking even on gym day. Protein supplement when needed to intake 1-gram pre-body weight adjusted bi-weekly to new weight.

Thanks Coco,,, I have 4 more weeks at present plan, then Im plan to go to a double split, burst training. Same body parts morning and night with an 8 hour break in the middle for hormone replenishment. Heavy in the morning and light at night! Same muscle group and different angles its touted to hit fast, intermediate and slow-twitch muscle fibers contractile and non-contractile muscle.
