how do u go about deciphering how much calories u must eat to put on mass? i heard it was like your weight times four thousand or some crap. or your weight times 4 times a thousand or some crap. any help? i weight 150 by the way...thanx bunches

well i'm sure its not your weight x4000, that would be 600,000 cals per day:) but you sure as hell would gain some weight. there is really no set number, it depends on your metabolism among other things. i would try eating 2500cals per day for 1 week and see what happens. if you're gaining no more than 1lb per week, great, keep it there and slowly increase it each week. if you're gaining more than that, go lower, if you're losing weight kick up the cals a bit. just play with your daily cals for a while to see where you need to be. it will take a few weeks to figure it out, but once you do, its easy as cake.

The general rule is BW x 20 for bulking.

You could probably make good gains with BW x 18 though, which would be 2700 cals for you.

Or you can measure how many cals you take in now and just add 200 or so calories on top of that until you're ganing like a pound a week.
