Cook Oats?

I have Quaker Oats.

Yesterday I eat them raw in yogurt. I told my mom that it was pretty good and she said that you have to cook them first.

What do you guys say?

i dont think there is any reason, that i know of, to cook quaker oats.

I eat them again with yougurt. I don't feel sick so I'm going to keep doing it.

i have a friend that mixes them into a protein shake. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Don't have to cook them, but most people are used to having them as oatmeal.

No, you don't have to cook them. A lot of people eat them raw in their protien shakes. It's not like meat or eggs that HAVE to be cooked.

It is true that you do not have to cook them, I have eaten uncooked oats for almost a year.. they are not as good when they are cooked :P load em with hotsauce and eat up! :D

I've never heard of that. I love hotsauce. I guess I'm gonna have to try that now! :)

I use a teaspoon and a glass of water to eat oats. They probably even digest slightly slower because you're not breaking them down at all. Plus, it makes you look hardcore.

lol, actually you would look rather foolish to the general public.. trying to eat uncooked oatmeal, they prolly wouldn't even know what oatmeal is and call you a horse or something.
