Say, you are gaining weight and to stay lean, to keep stamina, to keep the blood flowing right and the lungs and heart in order, you do cardio at the gym

do you go "to failure" do you make yourself go so bad you have to scrape yourself off the treadmill after?

how long do you go for? 10 min? 15? 20? 25? 30? 35?

i use a treadmill and i adjust intensity by adjusting speed, not the angle. a high angle turns it into resistance training imo...

I want to make stamina progress

Stamina progress would require running longer than 30 minutes, definitely.

And "running to failure"? Maybe I won the genetic-slow-twitch lottery, but I can run for more than two hours before "failing!" :D

I do about 20 minutes on the treadmill (at a 3.5 incline & 12 km/h) but failing on a treadmill would look kinda comical

At home i use a natty little excercise bike, about 30 or 40 minutes with good sweat (sweat goes into eyes)

lol, dont give me that nonsense about i can run for 2 hours if i want to. if so, your not running hard enough. or are you telling me your average speed is the same if you do a sprint or a marathon-?

Yea, thats like doing HIIT with 2 minute intervals :D

I'd definetly go with HIIT. Just one set of maybe 10 sprints. I'd be sure to do it later in the day after my weight training though.
