View Full Version : Powerlifting + target movements

I want to design a program where I can do the powerlifting movements as well as the target movements for each muscle group. I was thinking that I could do one week power split, one week target split. Would that be a good way of going about it or should I do power one day then target the next monday through friday and then rest? Which would you guys think would produce the best results?

I think a good basic way to do both would be to do a push/pull/legs split. Say your training days were Monday, wednesday and Friday...you could do one powerlift on each day first, then do your movements for those muscles. Say Monday was push day...start with bench press, then go on to more work for the pecs, delts and triceps. Deadlift on pull day and do the same and then squat first on leg day and do the same.

This is a very easy way to combine both and I actully did that for a short time with good results.
