Hey guys, I'm thinking of entering a meet with this all natural organization:

http://www.nasa-sports.com/

Is this a good organization for a natural lifter?

I see that the winner and state record holder did 457lbs on the bench at last yr's Ohio state meet in my class, 280lbs, 24-29 yrs old. I have done 465 raw in my basement. I've never used a shirt before. Any suggestions on a good single ply? No canvas allowed. What about a lifting suit? What can I expect at the meet? Any suggestions on attire/equipment?

What do you mean, all natural organization? What isn't allowed?

The only things I take are creatine on and off, and protein.

... I have done 465 raw in my basement. By competition rules? If so: good job!

I've never used a shirt before. Any suggestions on a good single ply? From what I understand a Titan Fury is the best single-ply poly. Haven't used one myself yet.

What about a lifting suit?Dunno. Never wore one.

What can I expect at the meet?A good deal of people willing to help.

I don't know the organization, but I'd say go regardless of how you think you will do. Use whatever equipment you can get accustom to in time for the competition, otherwise don't worry about it. Also, don't put too much pressure on yourself to win or place well. Go and have some fun. Meet some of the lifters and take it all in. Everyone there I'm sure will be very supportive. This sport breeds a lot of comradery, so just go in with a positive attitude and you will be assured to have a positive experience.

Or at least that's been my experience from the one meet I was involved in, and the people I met there. I didn't actually lift though.

Titan Fury is a good single ply shirt, as is the Inzer Phenom. A good single ply denim would be better than either of those, but takes much longer to master.

Re: squat suit, Titan makes a good one, Inzer's Hardcore seems to be the gold standard of single ply suits, and that's about it, given your restrictions.

Re: breifs, don't bother with the groove breifs from Inzer. I have ordered several pair, and have never been able to get them more than halfway up my thighs. They are next to worthless, IMO.

And about NASA, they seem to be the best out there amongst the "clean" organizations. The guy who runs it lives about 100 miles away from me, as a side note. I don't care much for the clean organizations, personally, they seem to be on a major agenda to discount big lifts, and don't seem to be very freindly toward the lifter, in general. However, I have had friends lift in NASA and they seemed to like it.

Good luck and for God's sake, don't drink any coffee before you lift. We all know that is what killed Lyle Alzado.
