i was wondering if you guys heard anything about mixing the crreatine with gatorade. I heard it from a friend of mine, he said it was pretty good. But has anyone tried it before or what are your thoughts/opninions on this?

Thats how I do it.

20oz of gatorade with 5g of creatine mixed in. I drink it during my workout.

What is Gatorade is it the same as Lucozade?

It's not carbonated (as Lucozade) and has 6g of simple sugars per 100ml.(glucose and sucrose). It has lots of different flavours and tastes great.

Pretty poor compared to my favourite lucozade then, especially when mixing with creatine.

Thanks...

I like the taste of gatoraide a lot but I've heard you're not supposed to take creatine with liquids that are high in citric acid. Gatoraide lists citric acid as one of the first few ingredients. What do you guys think?

I think the citric acid thing is just a rumor.. a false one... in other words, i think its bull :D

acid precipitates many proteins and nucleic acids including creatine. creatine needs to be completely dissolved to have maximal absorption. otherwise it will just pass through with some gastrointestinal distress. gatorade doesn't have enough citric acid to decrease the pH to the point of precipitating creatine. OJ will precipitate it though.

Here's the latest that I tried with good results...

Grill me if your want but it is brilliant:

The theory behind it is the usual creatine:glucose ratio. I was advised that the ideal proportions was 1:3 using Glucodin, which is a good source available at most supermarkets.

The dose:

Creatine 20g:Glucodin 60g (loading) - 1 week
Creatine 10g:Glucodin 30g (maint.) - 2 weeks

Then have a 3 week break....

Get a good buzz, but I found it to be most effect if taken 45min to an hour before the workout.

This is using pure creatine monohydrate by the way.

Hope this is helpful.

you are overdosing your creatine with that method.

also, 30g of glucose won't do much of anything.

I just use Phosphsgen HP by EAS. Tastes great & almost dissolves completely. Its a bit pricey though so if the creat/gatorade is saving $$-sure , why not...

gatorade doesn't have dextrose, except for the powder mix kind. i use dextrose or maltodextrin and water, tastes nasty, but it works.
