Hey all, i work out at night, so i don't get home until like 10:30 so is it better to have a protein shakes or nuts or fruits before going to bed?

Depends what time you go to bed.

I'd say drink your protein shake during your workout in between sets and have a little something before bed, like cottage cheese for example.

It also depends if you're cutting or bulking.

I eat a bowl of oatmeal before i goto sleep, usually take it to bed with me :] I have another bowl when i wake up too.

tuna is ideal. i have also found a 6 oz can of bumble bee carb meat, which is only 80 cals. great light snack anytime.

I also think cottage cheese is about ideal.

I think a 6oz can of tuna should have about 175 kcal (2.5 servings per can)

I usually drink a couple glasses of milk about a half hour before I go to sleep because milk has a slow digesting protein (casein) which is good while your sleeping 7+ hours or so without getting any nutrients and it is also beneficial to your sleeping pattern.

i think you should definatly have a goodsized meal if you just worked out, post workout is when calories will be best partitioned. cut calories at otherh times of the day, not after workout
