Quick question about digestion. Does the body digest protein from solid foods better than shakes? Do the shakes not get taken up by the body as well as real food?

My thinking is that since the shakes are liquid they are more likely do just "go right through" your system.

Liquid forms of protein usally come in the form of whey protein or isolates as opposed to foods that are usally casien. Whey is absorbed quicker.

If you were to to take a liquid form of casien and a food form of casien. The liquid would be digested and absorbed a lot more efficiently.
The body has to break the food down as opposed to the liquid. It is taken to the gut bypassing the stage where the body has to break it down. There in the stomach it is digested through the various processes of the body and then absorbed into the blood stream.
