My dad hunts every now and then and when he actually get himself a deer he makes all jerky and sausage. Exactly how healthy is this? I got about 5 rings of the sausage and 4 bags of the jerky, and I raped a bag of it already, good tasting stuff. So if anyone has any info on deer meat that'd help out, thanks

looks like a very healthy meat. The jerky my have a lot of sodium depending on how its dried so be careful of that.

thx, perfect link. Good protien, bad cholesterol. Good enough for me. Thanks again. The jerky makes for a good snack at school, and the snausage makes good with my runny corn and mashed patatoes. Bambi has never tasted better

Jerky is a food of the Gods. Too bad it's like $40/lb.

40$/lb? not if you live on the saskatchewan prarie, a garbage bag full will cost you about the price of a bullet, maybe 2 if you have bad aim.

lol, true enough. I guess the same goes for my home state, if you don't count the cost of freezing your nuts off for a month to see a deer. If you're not shooting your own, though, the stuff is darn expensive.
