Hey whats up? I've been taking creatine for 2 months and im gonna take it for about another 2-3 weeks just to finish my second bottle up...I made incredible gains on it for the past 2 months...Is there any way to keep the gains when I go off of in a month or so? Some1 at my gym had told me if you glutamine when you get off the creatine it helps maintain all the gains.

errr yeah glutamine, that'll um do the trick...

Creatine isn't like using AAS. That's natural growth and as long as you keep eating well and lifting you'll not lose a damn thing.

what about Satur8 or SWOLE V2? Should I take one of these for the month off of creatine? Well these have the same effect? Do these effect ur liver or kidney? Or should i just not take anything for a month... very confused.

Why are you going to stop creatine in the first place?

no need to cycle off creatine.

Creatine gains last. Muscle you make is muscle you keep. Unless you aren't eating enough to support it. Creatine adds some intial water that you might lose when you come off of it but you don't lose any of the gains you've made while on creatine.

So it's fine for me to keep taking Phosphagen HP month after month? I've gained great size...I take 5g/day. I just thought if you take it for a while it has bad effects on your kidneys? Anyone take creatine like phosphagen for more then 6 months at a time? And isnt there sumtin like i lose my natural creatine from taking it for sooo long?

I've been taking Phosphagen XT, which is 10g, almost straight since last october and havn't noticed any side effects.

Is XT and better then HP? Is it still helping you out? Ya i think im just gonna go and get another bottle...I was just worried about long term effects if i take creatine for a year straight.

As long as you have no predisposed problems and keep drinking tons of water, creatine will not hurt you. If you're short on the green then get off the creatine for a while. Other than that, there is no reason to get off it.

Alright i decided to stay on it...I had to admit for the past couple months on it I havent been drinking MORE water like i should have...How many oz of water you think I should drink for now on? Do u think not drinking excess water really hurt me the past couple months?

Water is very important, I would say 2 gallons per day to be on the safe side. How much have you been drinking for the last couple of months??

why is water so important? besides dehydration- i've never drank 2 galls in a day

Ive probally drank about 64 oz of water a day the past couple months...Jeez 2 gallons!

Who the hell really drinks 2 gallons a day? Srew that, I would be in the bathroom every 30 minutes of the day... I couldn't even get in a full workout, with out running the the bathroom twice...

Your body will get accustomed to it.... I'm not taking creatine(yet, but soon) and I still drink about 2 gals per day.

If I'm not mistaken, those are both creatine products...

Uhh, correct me if I'm wrong here people, but not cycling off creatine every two month's or so has the possibility to stop the natural production of creatine in our own bodies?

r1zen:

why would this matter ?

no-one is saying that your body wouldn't start making it again right away as soon as you are off

it's not like test which you can live without...you couldn't move without creatine so your body would fire up production as soon as levels drop

I'm confused about the "muscle gain" theory that exists around creatine.
My understanding is that it provides you with more energy following the depletion of ATP, this extra 6-10 second boost of energy allows you to do more reps...
This increase in energy seems all to often confused with an increase in strength.

Obviously you can make muscular gains while on creatine as a RESULT of this added boost of energy...those gains in strength and size wont be lost, however when u stop taking the creatine and ur 6-10 seconds of ADP/CP fuel diminish u won't be able to lift the same amounts. Which seems to be confused with strength loss...in other words, ur 1-3rm won't be affected, but ur 6-10 probably will

That's what I'm wondering... I hear and read that sometimes the body won't start up the natural process of creating creatine again... I don't know how true this is and I'd like to read some hard scientific facts.

i hear that production does not stop- or that it is fine when your off it
your body doesnt make that much anyway, you probably get more from diet then from your body's production.

That's what I'm wondering... I hear and read that sometimes the body won't start up the natural process

myself and others here that browse alot of abstracts are pretty much saying a study that shows this is a problem dosen't exist

have a look

www.pubmed.nl

and alot of the longer studies like the recent 22 month study with the college football players don't show this

so if it would ever happen it would happen after nearly two years

good point this really puts it in perspective

also I'm sure a bb with elevated creatinine levels would produce more naturally as well

supply meets demand

this whole myth comes from exogenous test use but it doesnt apply

and you cant get test from food so good point again

I'm confused about the "muscle gain" theory that exists around creatine.

in a word, recovery

from what I understand after a workout the myocite can't get to structural repair until the cell is re-hydrated (inc. glycogen) and replenish stores of ATP/CP

so if the creatine allows for more ATP,CP,H2O and/or Glycogen faster it accelerates/improves recovery = more growth

I don't even notice much of a performance gain and I don't gain the usual 3-5 lbs of water weight either

but it makes me grow faster

holto i'm gonna have to disagree with you
you can get test from food, if your food is 1AD...
