My day looks like this:

8:15am: breakfeast (2 egg whites, rice, meat, protein shake)
11:30am: workout
11:50am: shake (protein w/milk & water)
1:30: lunch

Is it ok to take 5 hour break between meals as I do above? I cant eat after I lift, all i can do is drink a shake. Not hungry after that for a while

If there is enough calories in the shake it shouldn't make any difference. Just think of it as a snack. You don't have to eat full meals every 2-3 hours on the dot. Consuming something will work and the post workout shake will be fine.

I think you need more carbs in that shake

assuming 12-20 from the milk and assuming there is very little in the protein powder

Depends what shake. A weight gainer shake will most likely contain a fair amount of carbs, e.g. Reflex Instant Mass.

So what do you guys suggest for a post workout shake, i have been recently having one that is hign in only protein, basically no carbs from the shake, no fat, and maybe a few from the milk. What is the norm for a post workout shake? And what are the specific nutrients you need?
