Ok I am new to taking supplements and on the back of the bottle it says to take them on an empty stomach. Now how much time do I have to wait before I can eat? Why do they even say to take them on an empty stomach first thing in the morning? I don't know about the rest of you but that sounds like just asking for trouble as far upsetting my stomach goes. Little help please thanks so much.

My guess is that taking a pill on an empty stomach will prevent the pill from being digested in your stomach, since eating something will start the digestive process. Could be wrong, though.

"What does it mean to take it on an empty stomach?
It means that the medication should be taken at least 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after a meal when your stomach does not have much food in it."

The reason you take a pill on an empty stomach is so that digestion does not interfere with the uptake of the contents.

Wait 30 minutes before eating, if you think it will make a difference. In the end, it really won't. Waiting 1-2 hours would be silly, since most people won't wait 2 hours to eat upon waking.
