is there a way to determine how much protein should be taken after a workout, or just flat out at once? im 5'10, 182, and want to make sure im getting enough each but not so much its a waste. my breakfast is
12 oz skim milk, thats like 12g or so isnt it?
1.5 scoops whey, about 33g
carnation instant breakfast packet, that has 8g

after a workout i have the same thing but minus the breakfast mix.

After a workout you want quick acting protein, such as whey. Throughout the rest of the day you want slow acting protein, but whey is still fine. Try to consume 1-1.5g per pound of bodyweight throughout the whole day.

You are 182 pounds, and a minimum protein intake daily is 1 gram per pound of bodyweight. So let's say you consume 220 grams of protein eveyday. So...

6 Meals= 220 grams Protein
1 Meal= 37 grams Protein

So maybe you wanna take something that has around 35-40 grams of Protein directly after your workout (slightly more is fine too)
