This summer i was thinking about taking a fat burner like hydroxycut, to help burn off some fat. But i dont want to lose any muscle mass or strenght, in fact i would like to actually get stronger and if possible gain extra muscle mass, basically drop a few points off the bf% and gain mass and add strength through out the summer.

right now i weight 285, and i would like to get down to 265 or 260 to get quicker for football.

is this possible to take a fat burner, and to watch my diet (high protein intake) and still gain mass and strength?

fat burners burn calories, not fat
a proper diet is all you need

There are some studies that show some stimulants have a negative effect on glucose uptake (caffeine, ephedrine), so I'd likely not use it when trying to gain mass.

Gaining strength on a cut can be achieved, but it'll mainly be CNS adaptation to the motions you're performing. I wouldn't really look for too much mass gain and I'd be more than satisfied to retain all of the mass I currently had, if I was cutting down 25-30lbs.
