Im new here and i was wondering what is a good amount of calorie and protien intake for someone who is trying to lose some body fat. Currently im 6'2 213 and my goal wieght is around 190.

Currently im taking in about 1200 calories and 224 grams protien i been doing this for about 2 weeks and i havent lost any wieght. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

1200 cals/day is WAY TOO low!! 2000 should be you lowest and EVEN THAT'S probably too low. your metabolism probably "shut down" due to your recent starvation diet.

so i just need to eat some more so that i take in some more calories.

start at about 12-13cals/lb. of bodyweight for a few weeks and see what happens. just make sure you're not cheating. count EVERY SINGLE calorie and track it daily. weight yourself once a week, preferably first thing in the morning. are you doing any resistance training and/or cardio?? what's your c/f/p ratio?

on M,W,F im doing 30 minutes of eliptical at about 3 mph and 40 minutes of bike at 17-22 mph thats usually about 900 calories that i burn. On tues, thurs. im doing 20 minutes of walking at about 3 mph and 20 minutes of bike and thats usually about 500 calories that i burn.
Im not sure what my c/f/p ratio is right now i will track it today and see.

First 2 weeks you only lose water weight, then the fat burning effect kicks in.

ok today i counted everything and i took in 1970 calories, 229 grams of protien, 148 grams of carbs and i took in 32 grams of fat.

Im not sure exactly what the ratio should be but that was mine for today and i usually eat the same thing everyday. Thanks for any and all replies.

can you post a normal days worth of meals? also use www.fitday.com for tracking what you eat. I have lost 26lbs since november but i am severly obese but stick to around 2400-2800 calories a day. click on my journal link if you like

I think you are doing way too much cardio and eating way too little, it sounds like your metabolism has shut down.

If you want to lose weight you need to eat more. To give you an idea of how much to eat I'm 180lbs at about 18-20% bf and I eat 2000-2500 calories on rest days and 2200-2700 calories on lifting days and I do absolutely no cardio and I'm still losing fat.

Can someone please tell me what would be a good amount of calories and carbs and protien and fat combination for me at 214 to lose wieght please.

Today i took in a little over 2200 calories with 230 grams of protien and 168 grams of carbs and 30 grams of fat but when i wieghed myself i was two pounds heavier for some reason. I dont understand that. Thanks for the help.

use the www.fitday.com so we can see what you are eating and what the percentages are. If you look at my fitday journal you can get an idea of how it works i try to stick to certain percentge of each
