Hey guys.

Have a bit of a problenm here. Turns out I injured my rib some time ago so I can't put too much downward pressure on that area. Seems i can't do squats, over head squats, push press or snatches. Thing is, I need to lift heavy and explosively for track and field.

So I was thinking of replacing the snatches and push presses in my workout schedule with high pulls and hang high pulls. I was also thinking of replacing squats with leg presses and working twice as hard on core exercises. Can i still derive some benefits (such as explosiveness and quickness) if i use these exercises? Hopefully, in time I can get back to doing normal squats because i loved those.

hey,
have you seen "belt squat machine" - that should help you out BIG TIME!

how about just plyometric stuff. No weight and still works explosiveness. Besides, shouldn't you be giving your rib a rest anyway?
