A lifter at my gym was going over my diet and told me that i should eat NO carbs after 5:00pm. Well this is when i have my last two meals. Is this true? and if so what would my meals be?

no its not true its just one of those myths that are floating out there... as long as you're within your nutritional goals you should be fine.

I agree, calories are far more important than carbs when trying to lose wieght on a balanced diet.

4 Calories (or kcals) per gram of carbohydrate.
4 Calories (or kcals) per gram of protein.
9 Calories (or kcals) per gram of fat.
